Mobile Phone Use Policy for Under 16s on Summer Break
This policy outlines the Faith Movement CIO’s mobile phone use guidelines for under 16s attending our Youth Events, including the Faith Summer Break and Northern Summertime. These rules have been developed with safeguarding and the overall wellbeing of young people in mind.
Policy Details
• All under 16s are required to hand over their mobile phones to the Safeguarding Lead upon arrival at the residential event.
• Each phone will be placed in an individually named pouch and stored securely for the duration of the event.
• Young people will only be allowed their phones at specified times.
• Mobile phones must only be used for contacting family and are not permitted for social media use, internet browsing, or other entertainment purposes.
• This policy is designed to enhance the experience of attendees by encouraging social interaction, friendship-building, and participation in wholesome, device-free activities.
Parent / Carer Agreement
This policy must be agreed to by parents or carers prior to the event. Upon arrival, children will be reminded of this policy and informed of the phone use schedule. Parents and carers can be assured that all devices will be kept secure and returned to their owners at the conclusion of the event.
