    In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2016 and Data Protection Act 2018, all personal data, including images (photographs and films for example), must be processed fairly and lawfully. To comply with this, we are bound to issue a privacy notice and inform you when:

    ·       Why they will be taken
    ·       What will be done with them
    ·       Who may see them
    ·       Any non-obvious consequences; for example, if the image from photographs and films is going to be used on a website, in a newsletter, or on televised programme.

    Faith Movement CIO Code of Conduct for children

    Any serious and repeated failure to comply with this code will result in the child being sent home. A parent / carer will be expected to collect the child at their own expense.

    The Faith Movement is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all its members and seeks to offer a positive experience for children and young people where they can learn and grow in faithfulness in a safe and positive environment.

    Everybody associated with the group should, always, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others.  Members should always be open and share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the group with the adult helpers or priests.
     
    Children and young people are expected to:
     
    ·       Be friendly and particularly welcoming to new members;
    ·       Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of age, gender, ability, social class, race, cultural background, religious beliefs or sexual identity;
    ·       Make your group a fun place to be;
    ·       Be supportive and committed to other group members;
    ·       Be loyal and give friends a second chance;
    ·       Be respectful, helpful and trustworthy;
    ·       Report inappropriate behavior or risky situations;
    ·       Listen to all instructions from the leaders and helpers and stick to the rules;
    ·       Respect group leaders/helpers and accept decisions;
    ·       Not be violent and aggressive;
    ·       Refrain from rough and dangerous play;
    ·       Take care of the equipment owned by the group;
    ·       Refrain from the use of bad language, racial or sectarian references;
    ·       Not take or distribute images or recordings of anyone without their permission;
    ·       Use social media responsibly;
    ·       Refrain from bullying; this includes bullying using any form of social media;
    ·       Not redistribute messages, images or e-mails without permission of the original sender;
    ·       Immediately report any unpleasant or inappropriate material or messages or anything that makes them feel uncomfortable;
    ·       Not post anything on-line that may damage the Faith Movement’s reputation;
    ·       Not get involved in inappropriate peer pressure and push others into something they do not want to do;
    ·       Not smoke, drink alcohol or take non-prescribed or illegal drugs;
    ·       Refrain from entering dormitories occupied by the opposite sex.
     
    Children / Young People have the right to:
     
    ·       Be safe and happy in their chosen activity.
    ·       Be respected and treated fairly.
    ·       Take part as an equal to other children and young people in the group.
    ·       Be protected from abuse by other members or outside sources.
    ·       Ask for help.
    ·       Be listened to.
    ·       Be believed.
    ·       Have any concerns taken seriously and acted on.
    ·       Be referred to professional help if needed.
    ·       Privacy.
     
    Any minor misdemeanors and general misbehavior will be addressed by the group leader. More serious or persistent misbehavior may result in short term or permanent exclusion from the group. The latter will entail parents / carers being called to come and pick up their child as they will not be able to remain on the premises. Parents / carers will be informed at all stages.

    Mobile Phone Use Policy for Under 16s on Summer Break

    This policy outlines the Faith Movement CIO’s mobile phone use guidelines for under 16s attending our Youth Events, including the Faith Summer Break and Northern Summertime. These rules have been developed with safeguarding and the overall wellbeing of young people in mind.

     

    Policy Details

    • All under 16s are required to hand over their mobile phones to the Safeguarding Lead upon arrival at the residential event.


    • Each phone will be placed in an individually named pouch and stored securely for the duration of the event.


    • Young people will only be allowed their phones at specified times.


    • Mobile phones must only be used for contacting family and are not permitted for social media use, internet browsing, or other entertainment purposes.


    • This policy is designed to enhance the experience of attendees by encouraging social interaction, friendship-building, and participation in wholesome, device-free activities.


    Parent / Carer Agreement

    This policy must be agreed to by parents or carers prior to the event. Upon arrival, children will be reminded of this policy and informed of the phone use schedule. Parents and carers can be assured that all devices will be kept secure and returned to their owners at the conclusion of the event.
