An evening with Uma Vandekerkhove, Registered Psychologist
  • Anxiety is one of the most common challenges facing young people today, but it doesn’t always look the same in each person. Join us for an informative and practical session designed for parents/caregivers and youth to better understand how anxiety shows up and how to respond effectively.

In this workshop we will explore:

    • How anxiety shows up in kids and teens
    • Avoidance, reassurance-seeking, and shutdown
    • Supporting vs. enabling anxiety
    • Practical regulation & coping tools to help build emotional regulation skills

We’ll also discuss test anxiety as a relatable example, including:

    • What happens in the brain and body during tests and exams
    • Strategies to manage anticipatory anxiety
    • Tools for before, during & after tests

Target audience: Parents, Students (14+), Families, Educators, Counselors, and the wider community.
