2️⃣ Chalking

SPACES: Your square will be a random section of the sidewalk near the fountain swings and may contain stains or textures. Consider them artistic challenges. The Chalking Area itself will be 5ft by 5ft, there will be limited space around it for physicalmovement. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO SWAP SPACES.
-
THINGS TO BRING: A towel/mat (to sit or kneel on), a hat, a drink, a snack, sunscreen, and any extra chalking supplies you want to work with. This can include additional colors of chalk, charcoal, and chalk pastels; paintbrushes for blending; spray bottles of water; or a stencil, drawing, or photograph to work from. PLEASE DO NOT BRING ANY KIND OF PAINT or glitter. (Yes, the professional artists use paint under their chalk, but it's a special diluted paint that we know will come off of the street. Let's not upset the City.)
-
You may have ONE (1) assistant help you create your chalk art. Your assistant must be in the same age group as you. (For instance, a teenager can't assist a 9-year-old.) Please note that all prizes are intended for one person and may be difficult to split, so make sure that you and your assistant are okay sharing a prize if you win an award.
3️⃣ JUDGING
- People's Choice is ongoing during the overlap of chalking time and market hours: 11AM-1PM. Plan to have a good representation of your talent showing by 11AM.
