Player Participation & Readiness:
We understand that every child develops confidence and comfort on the ice at their own pace, and we welcome players at all stages of readiness. Our coaches will always make every effort to encourage and support hesitant players in a positive, patient manner.
However, as a group program, we have a responsibility to ensure all players — especially those eager to learn and participate — receive the instruction and attention they need. If a player is consistently unable to engage with the group or participate in on-ice activities, our coaches may not be in a position to provide the extended one-on-one support required, as this can impact the experience of the broader group.
Ice Puffins Family Agreement
Ice Puffins is a small, non-profit club with limited spots and coaching resources, so to ensure every child has a great experience, we need families who are committed to creating a positive, supportive, team-based environment.
By registering, every family agrees to the following:
Player Expectations
Your daughter should be able to:
- Skate independently without assistance
- Follow simple group instructions
- Listen when the coach is talking
- Stay positive in a lightly structured setting
- Enjoy playing alongside other kids
Parent Expectations
We ask all families to:
- Help create a kind, respectful environment for players and families
- Let coaches do the coaching (not from the "sidelines")
- Use respectful language toward their child and others at the rink
- Support their daughter with encouragement, patience, and positivity
- Notify us by text as early as possible if your child will be absent, so we can plan balanced groups before we get on the ice
We reserve the right to remove players or families from the program if these expectations are not met.
