    Register below to participate in the Messiah Winter School in Townsville, July 2026.

  • Details for the Winter School: 

    When: Monday, 6 July (afternoon) to Sunday, 12 July (midday). 

    Where: St. Patrick's College, The Strand, Townsville. 

    What: Handel's Messiah (complete). Intensive rehearsals on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday with accomplished conductor Volker Hedtfeld. Additional vocal coach sessions available. Performance on Saturday (11 July) afternoon. Optional conducting and solo singing workshops on Sunday morning. 

    Who: The Project is organised by Cleveland Singers Inc. in collaboration with Great Barrier Reef Orchestra (GBRO) and Opera Queensland (OQ). Conductor: Volker Hedtfeld (Berlin, Germany)

     

    Conditions for participants: 

    - Attendance of all scheduled rehearsals and performance is compulsory. (NB: Tues 7/7 to Fri 10/7 will have morning and afternoon rehearsals.)

    - bring your own score of Handel's Messiah (in a black cover)

    - know your part well (rehearsal tracks are available)

    - bring black concert clothes

    - participation fee $100 (accompanied child $50, unaccompanied child $75)

  • The 2026 NTI Townsville 500 Supercars will be on during our Winter School and hotel prices are signifcantly higher than at other times. If you need accomodation and are looking for a cheaper option, we will try and find a private host for you. 

    We will charge $75/night for one person, $105/night for 2 people. (If more than 2 people are travelling and need (or want) to stay together, let us know and we'll see what we can do.)
