It's time for our annual Fish Fry! This week's menu:

Beer battered Atlantic Cod, housemade coleslaw (cabbage, carrots, apples, beets), handcut-russet potato fries and housemade tartar sauce made with mayo, candied jalapenos, fresh dill & chives for an OCP take on a Fish Fry classic. Sticking with our sustainable theme, we salvage everything from our animals and fry in a house-blend of grassfed animal fats.

 

All orders must be placed online and paid in full via credit card. Supplies are limited, so if the form is not working or drop down options aren't appearing, it's because the we've sold out.

While pre-ordering does give you priority in line, we ask for your patience upon pick-up. Everything is fried to order.  

 

We tend to get a lot of requests for the 5:00 to 6:00 hour.  Eventually it is more than our fryers can handle.  If the time slot you want does not appear, that means it is sold out. 

 

Beverage Pairing:  

This week we have a promotion on a South River Vineyard's Cab Franc.  This medium bodied red wine will be served just below room temperature.  

 

South River Vineyards in Geneva, OH specializes in estate grown wines with a focus on cool climate varietals.  Cab Franc is a very interested varietal most often used in blending, as it is a common component of traditional Bordeaux blends.  As a single varietal, it is often associated with a cooler region of France - the Loire Valley - and specifically Chinon wines.  This Ohio example is most related to the latter.

On it's own, it's slightly acidic (great for cutting thru the fat of a fish fry) with a medium body.  The wine has a unique undertone of pepper (but not as much as a syrah or zin) and an earthy note.  I personally love this wine and keep several vintages stashed for future enjoyment.
