• We’re so excited to welcome everyone back for Fun Fridays starting September 18th!

This fall, we’ll continue many of the hands-on activities the kids have loved throughout the summer, including carving projects, gardening, nature exploration, seasonal science, and outdoor adventures. We’ll also be tending to our new garden bed, building out our snap pea trellis, and hopefully getting some pumpkins growing in time for October!

Fun Fridays are a multi-age program, with an average age range of 6–10 years old. Activities are designed to allow children of different ages and abilities to participate, explore, create, and learn together. Fun Fridays run all year, and monthly offerings will be posted to our newsletter attendees so make sure to join with the link below!

Our indoor home base is located at:

290 W Gloucester Street, Gladstone, OR

We have a lovely indoor space with all the amenities we need for crafting, cooking, garden projects, games, and rainy-day activities. From there, we also adventure out to nearby parks and natural spaces such as Max Patterson Park.

Friday, September 25th- Elk Rock Island Fall Field Trip-FULL DAY OPTION ONLY  12:00–5:00 PM. All Things Garden + Fall Nature Exploration PICK UP/DROP OFF : (pin will be sent upon sign up) Half Day: 12:00–5 PM — $60 Our second September Fun Friday will be a nature-filled field trip to Elk Rock Island, located about a 10-minute drive from our indoor Gladstone location. September usually gives us a beautiful opportunity to experience the transition between summer and fall firsthand. We’ll spend the afternoon exploring the island while looking for clues that tell us a new season is arriving. Children will participate in a fun “What’s Changing & What Stays the Same?” nature identification game, observing changes in leaves, plants, temperatures, daylight, seeds, insects, and animal behavior. We’ll talk about questions like: What happens to deciduous trees as fall approaches? Why do some trees stay green all year? What are squirrels, birds, insects, and other animals doing differently? Where do seeds go when plants begin finishing their growing season? How can we prepare our own garden for cooler weather? We’ll bring those observations back into our Fern & Fir garden planning and talk about what we can plant, harvest, protect, or prepare as we move into fall. Expect plenty of nature exploration, movement, seasonal science, observation, and child-led discovery!
