Q: Is this camp safe? Who will be supervising the girls?
The camp is held at Gracie Barra Bondi and is fully supervised by the head coach and assistant coaches throughout the day. It's a girls-only mat with a structured program. We maintain appropriate supervision ratios, and all sessions are conducted in a controlled, supportive environment. Drop-off and pick-up procedures will be communicated before the camp.
Q: My daughter competes, but she's not at an elite level. Is she a good fit?
Absolutely. This camp is for any girl who competes — whether she's done 2 comps or 200. She'll train alongside girls of all levels, including some of Australia's strongest young competitors. That's the whole point: everyone gets better when they train together. She doesn't need to be the best. She just needs to be willing to work hard and have fun.
Q: We train at a different gym. Will that be awkward?
Not at all. This camp is open to girls from any gym, any team, anywhere in Australia. There are no gym politics here. Everyone trains together, everyone supports each other. That's what "Stronger Together" means.
Q: What if my daughter doesn't know anyone there?
She won't be the only one. Girls are coming from all over Australia, and many won't know each other beforehand. The camp is structured to build connections quickly — she'll be drilling, working through challenges, and training alongside other girls from day one. By the end of the first session, she'll have new friends who share her passion.
Q: What will they actually do each day?
Each day runs from 9 AM to 3 PM with a lunch break from 12 PM to 1 PM. Sessions cover competition-specific drilling, match strategy, situational sparring, mental preparation, and game planning. The program is structured to build across all four days — each day adds to the last. A detailed daily schedule will be sent to all registered families before the camp.
Q: Can I sign up for just one or two days?
The camp is designed as a full four-day program for a few important reasons. Each day builds on the previous one, the techniques and strategies develop across the week. It also allows us to organise training partners, group structures, and session planning across all four days so every athlete gets the most mat time with the right partners. Most importantly, four days gives the athletes the best learning experience to genuinely level up their jiu-jitsu — one or two days just isn't enough time to make that happen.
Q: What does she need to bring?
Lunch, snacks, and water for each day. A mouthguard and slip-on shoes are also recommended. A Gracie Barra training uniform will be provided for non-GB athletes, subject to availability. We'll confirm uniform details with all registered families closer to the camp. She should also bring her own gi as a backup.
Q: What's the refund/cancellation policy?
If you cancel 14 or more days before the camp (before March 24), you'll receive a full 100% refund. If you cancel 7–13 days before the camp (March 24–30), you'll receive a 75% refund. If you cancel within the final week (March 31 onwards), you'll receive a 50% refund. Your spot is transferable to another eligible athlete at any time — just let us know before the camp starts.
Q: What about the grand prize draw?
Every registered athlete who attends the camp is automatically entered into the draw to win a trip to any BJJ competition anywhere in the world — including return flights, 3 nights accommodation, and competition registration (valued at up to $3,500 AUD). Your entries depend on your ticket:
→ Camp Ticket - 1 entry
→ Camp Ticket + Training Plan - 2 entries
→ Camp Ticket + Training Plan + Follow Up Private Class - 3 entries
Priority Access registrants receive one bonus entry on top of their ticket. The winner will be drawn within 7 days of the camp ending. The prize is for the winning athlete only — a parent or guardian chaperone is required but not covered by the prize. If the winner prefers not to use the Promoter's selected travel arrangements, a reimbursement-based cash alternative is available (up to $3,500) for eligible competition expenses with proof of receipts required. The prize is also transferable to another person if needed. The prize must be redeemed within 12 months of the draw.
