Surreal Stories

March 9-30, 2026 3:30-5:30 PM for ages 7-14. Students will create art based around the surrealist art movement. They will create a 3d wild drawing, a wacky eye scene, magazine collage, and a dripping clay clock. We will look at artists like Salvador Dali for inspiration.

About the instructor: Marisa Companion is an artist and educator who earned an MFA from California Institute of the Arts (2011). She taught high school and k-8 art in New Hampshire and California for the last 15 years. Art education is an important part of her practice, and art community outreach has helped inform the art she creates. Marisa’s work has been featured at Danforth Museum of Art, Framingham, MA, and Art Basel, Miami.
