Dog Parade and Costume Contest Rules and Regulations

Date and Time: The Dog Parade and Costume Contest will be held on Monday, March 17 at 5:00 pm. The parade will take place on Beach Street from Orange Avenue to Magnolia Avenue.

Check-in: 4:30 pm Location: Beach Street at Orange Avenue.

Purpose: The event aims to raise awareness and funds for Sofie's Circle Dog Rescue while celebrating the creativity and companionship of our canine friends.

Entry Requirements:

1. All dogs participating in the parade and costume contest must be accompanied by their owners or handlers.
2. Dogs must be kept on a leash or in a carrier at all times unless otherwise specified by event organizers.
3. Owners/handlers are responsible for their dogs' behavior and must ensure their dogs are up-to-date on vaccinations and well-behaved around other dogs and people.
4. Participation is open to all dog breeds and sizes.

Costume Contest Categories:

1. Small Dog Costume Contest (for dogs under 20 lbs)
2. Large Dog Costume Contest (for dogs 20 lbs and over)

Costume Contest Guidelines:

1. Costumes must be safe and comfortable for the dogs to wear.
2. Any costume accessories (e.g., hats, glasses) must be securely attached to prevent injury or discomfort to the dog.
3. Costumes should not impede the dog's movement or ability to see, hear, or breathe.
4. Participants are encouraged to be creative and original in their costume designs.

Judging Criteria:

1. Creativity: Originality and creativity of the costume design.
2. Fit: How well the costume fits the dog and enhances their appearance.
3. Presentation: The dog's demeanor and presentation during the parade.

Prizes:

1. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each category.
2. Prize details will be announced closer to the event date.

Registration:

1. Registration for the Dog Parade and Costume Contest is required. Complete the below form or register in-person on the day of the event.
2. A registration fee of $15 per dog will be charged, with all proceeds benefiting Sofie's Circle Dog Rescue.

Liability Waiver: All participants must sign the liability waiver (below) acknowledging that they understand the risks associated with participating in the event and releasing Bullseye Direct Marketing/Al Smith Productions from any liability.

Event Guidelines:

1. Participants and spectators are expected to follow event staff instructions and guidelines at all times.
2. Dogs must be kept under control and not allowed to disturb other participants or spectators.
3. Owners/handlers are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.

Disclaimer: Bullseye Direct Marketing/Al Smith Productions reserves the right to modify or cancel the event in the event of unforeseen circumstances or if deemed necessary for the safety and well-being of participants and attendees.

By participating in the Dog Parade and Costume Contest, all participants agree to abide by these rules and regulations.

Dog Parade Liability Waiver

I understand and acknowledge that my participation in the St. Paddy's Day Dog Parade organized by Bullseye Direct Marketing/Al Smith Productions on Monday, March 17, 2025 involves certain risks and dangers, including but not limited to risks associated with dogs, crowds, and outdoor activities. In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Dog Parade, I hereby agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Bullseye Direct Marketing/Al Smith Productions, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, sponsors, and affiliates from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me or my dog, or to any property belonging to me or my dog, while participating in the Dog Parade or in any related activities.

I understand that dogs can be unpredictable and may behave in ways that could cause harm to themselves, other animals, or people. I agree to keep my dog under control at all times during the Dog Parade and to be solely responsible for my dog's behavior, actions, and well-being. I further understand that it is my responsibility to ensure that my dog is up-to-date on vaccinations and is in good health to participate in the Dog Parade.

I acknowledge that I have read and understand this waiver and release of liability and voluntarily agree to its terms. I understand that by signing this waiver, I am giving up certain legal rights, including the right to sue Bullseye Direct Marketing/Al Smith Productions for any damages resulting from my participation in the Dog Parade.
