Dog Parade and Costume Contest Rules and Regulations
Date and Time: The Dog Parade and Costume Contest will be held on Monday, March 17 at 5:00 pm. The parade will take place on Beach Street from Orange Avenue to Magnolia Avenue.
Check-in: 4:30 pm Location: Beach Street at Orange Avenue.
Purpose: The event aims to raise awareness and funds for Sofie's Circle Dog Rescue while celebrating the creativity and companionship of our canine friends.
Entry Requirements:
- All dogs participating in the parade and costume contest must be accompanied by their owners or handlers.
- Dogs must be kept on a leash or in a carrier at all times unless otherwise specified by event organizers.
- Owners/handlers are responsible for their dogs' behavior and must ensure their dogs are up-to-date on vaccinations and well-behaved around other dogs and people.
- Participation is open to all dog breeds and sizes.
Costume Contest Categories:
- Small Dog Costume Contest (for dogs under 20 lbs)
- Large Dog Costume Contest (for dogs 20 lbs and over)
Costume Contest Guidelines:
- Costumes must be safe and comfortable for the dogs to wear.
- Any costume accessories (e.g., hats, glasses) must be securely attached to prevent injury or discomfort to the dog.
- Costumes should not impede the dog's movement or ability to see, hear, or breathe.
- Participants are encouraged to be creative and original in their costume designs.
Judging Criteria:
- Creativity: Originality and creativity of the costume design.
- Fit: How well the costume fits the dog and enhances their appearance.
- Presentation: The dog's demeanor and presentation during the parade.
Prizes:
- Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each category.
- Prize details will be announced closer to the event date.
Registration:
- Registration for the Dog Parade and Costume Contest is required. Complete the below form or register in-person on the day of the event.
- A registration fee of $15 per dog will be charged, with all proceeds benefiting Sofie's Circle Dog Rescue.
Liability Waiver: All participants must sign the liability waiver (below) acknowledging that they understand the risks associated with participating in the event and releasing Bullseye Direct Marketing/Al Smith Productions from any liability.
Event Guidelines:
- Participants and spectators are expected to follow event staff instructions and guidelines at all times.
- Dogs must be kept under control and not allowed to disturb other participants or spectators.
- Owners/handlers are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.
Disclaimer: Bullseye Direct Marketing/Al Smith Productions reserves the right to modify or cancel the event in the event of unforeseen circumstances or if deemed necessary for the safety and well-being of participants and attendees.
By participating in the Dog Parade and Costume Contest, all participants agree to abide by these rules and regulations.
