    CAMP DESCRIPTIONS

*Note - Camp has changed this year. Instead of offering morning camps and early afternoon camps, we have simplified our offerings. Each camp will now run for three (3) hours each day instead of 1.5 hours.  Campers will be at the school from 9-12 for camp. Week 1 camps are only four days (Tuesday-Friday).

PLEASE NOTE: THESE DATES MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE IN THE EVENT OF FURTHER SCHOOL CANCELLATIONS. OUR DISTRICT IS OUT OF ELEARNING DAYS, SO ANY ADDITIONAL MAKE UP DAYS WOULD CAUSE A SHIFT IN CAMP SCHEDULES. WE WILL COMMUNICATE ANY CHANGES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

Please register your child based on their CURRENT grade in school for the 2025-2026 school year.

    Week 1  Camps: June 9-12, 9:00 - 12:00 ($150.00 Each)

    • 01: Discovery Camp  -  Grades K-1. Students in Discovery camp will be introduced to STEAM through hands on activities. Students will learn to solve problems using basic engineering concepts.
    • 02: Exploration Camp  -  Grades 2-3: Students in Exploration Camp will learn engineering and STEAM through hands on activies that relate to real world problems.  Students will learn to design and some basic programming.

    • 03: Creation Camp - Grades 4-5: Creation camp is a blend of previous year's software and manufacturing camps - students in this camp will learn how to use shop machinery that our teams use in contruction of our competition robot, as well as some programming and software control.

    • 04: Challenge Camp - Grades 6-8: Challenge Camp extends on the skills gained in previous camps. Students will continue to explore design, manufacturing, and programming concepts.

    Week 2 Camps - June 15-19, 2026

    • Build-a-Bot Jr. - $100 - 9:00-11:00 AM (2nd-5th grade): Students are put into teams to design, build, program, and compete with a robot. On the last day, families are invited to cheer on campers in their tournament matches. NOTE: This is a beginner camp; however, students must be able to work with others to build a robot.
    • Build-a-Bot-  - $150 - 12:00-4:00 PM (6th-8th grade): Our most popular camp; students are put into teams to design, build, program, and compete with a robot. Teams will compete on a playing field with families in the audience on our final day.  NOTE: This is our highest-level camp. Students must be able to stay interested in robots for 4 hours per day. Each team member will have multiple team roles.

    FAQs

    • Do I need to send a snack with my student(s)?  Students in week 1 camps or in a week 2 camp can bring a light (allergen free) snack and drink with them.
    • What is the difference between week 1 and week 2 camps? Week 1 camps focus on the skills necessary to build robots, and skills we use every day at Penn Robotics. We rely on our ability to work in teams, think creatively, make parts, develop solutions through intelligent design, program, and wire our robots.  Week 2 challenges students to put these skills to work in order to work in a team and make a robot ready for competition at the end of the week.
    • What should my student wear? Students should dress comfortably and in accordance with the weather.  Students in the Creation and Advanced Creation camps must come in close-toed shoes, and pants are preferred!
    • How do I pay for camp? ALL camp payments must be made digitally this year. We apologize for any inconvenience.
    • What is the refund policy? We cannot offer refunds for camp. Should you have a conflict, we can apply your payment to a camp next summer. These requests must be made no later than May 15, 2026
