  • 2026 Summer Camp at the Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork provides children with an opportunity to connect with nature and live into the rhythms of a Colorado summer on our 13-acre campus bordered by the Roaring Fork River. Each day, students will spend ample time outdoors with activities including hiking through the wetlands to the sidearms of the river, exploring nature and tending to our garden. Time outside will alternate with focused, creative times from whimsical storytelling, singing, simple crafts to circle games. There is plenty of time for imaginative play as students enjoy the sunny days in the shade of our tall willow trees. Homemade, organic snacks provided each day - the way summer was meant to be!

    • Summer Camp Behavior Expectations
    • We are excited to meet all the new campers and welcome back returning campers this summer and have lots of fun! Here are some things we want you to know to help everyone have a great time:

New Faces and New Places – Our camp is full of new children meeting new teachers, and we will be exploring new activities and routines. It’s a big change for everyone, and it can take some time for everyone to adjust!

Transitions and Changes – We understand that some children may find it a bit challenging to adjust to new faces, places, and activities, and that’s completely okay. We want every child to have a fun and comfortable experience in the group. If your child continues to struggle with the changes and with the transitions, please note that while we may offer some additional support initially, long-term reliance on this support isn’t sustainable. If the difficulties persist, we may not be able to fully meet their needs within our group setting.

Respect for All – We ask that all campers try their best to be kind, patient, and respectful of others. Sometimes, the excitement and change can make us feel a little overwhelmed, but we encourage everyone to use their words and ask for help when they need it.

Focus on Fun – We want each child to have a great time, and oftentimes, behavior that is consistently disruptive to the group may need to be addressed. If your child has a hard time adjusting and this becomes a challenge, we may need to discuss in a timely way whether our camp is the best fit for them.

Independence – To ensure that all children have a positive and enriching experience, we encourage children to develop independence in everyday tasks, such as following simple instructions and taking care of their personal belongings. While we provide a supportive and caring environment, please keep in mind that our program is designed for group activities, and we are unable to provide consistent one-on-one attention for each child.

Before registering, please think about how your child handles new experiences, changes, and transitions. We want to ensure that camp is a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone! More details will be discussed at our Parent Orientation in May.

If you have questions about how your child might transition into Summer Camp, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Early Childhood Coordinator.

I have read and understand the Behavior Expectations:
