For participation in the Thorne Bros Classic Fishing Tournament to be held on July 27th, 2026 on Lake Minnetonka, I waive and release the following parties: Thorne Bros LLC and affiliates, the hosts, sponsors, tournament officials and media representatives, from any and all claims, liabilities, injuries, damages or cause of actions incurred in connection from mine (or my dependent’s) participation in this fishing tournament. I agree to voluntarily waive all my rights for any legal ramifications against the Thorne Bros Classic, staff, and their sponsors by any or all competing, paying entry, paying membership, and participating in the event. All contestants voluntarily waive their rights for any legal ramifications against Thorne Bros Classic and their sponsors by competing, paying entry, paying membership, and participating in the Thorne Bros Classic.
Inherent and Potential Risks
I understand that this Thorne Bros Classic Fishing Tournament involves the strenuous physical activity of fishing and boating. These activities in their nature involve inherent risks. I assume all inherent risks that are associated with participating in this event that are related to the activity of fishing and boating. Inherent risks that may be incurred include minor, major or catastrophic injuries such as paralysis and death. I agree to assume these risks related to the event and will do what is possible to help mitigate these risks.
I agree to assume the risks that are also involved with contact with other participants, deliberate or negligent acts from other participants, failure of other participants from following the rules of the Tournament, any defects of the conditions of the premises; including rough waters; and the effects of the weather.
In the event that either party is unable to perform their obligations under these terms because of acts of God, equipment, or cause or damage that is reasonably beyond its control, such parties will not be liable for damages related. Thorne Bros and other involved parties are also not liable in the event of severe weather if the tournament has been cut short or canceled. In the event that either of these instances would occur, I understand that there may not be a refund of the registration fee.
Voluntary Participation
I am fully aware of the risks associated with the participation in the Thorne Bros Classic Fishing Tournament, and I voluntarily elect to participate in this fishing tournament knowing that my participation involves these risks.
I agree that Thorne Bros LLC and affiliates, along with the other parties involved, are not responsible for personal items lost, stolen or damaged before, during or after the Thorne Bros Classic Fishing Tournament.
Acknowledgement and Compliance with the rules
I agree that I am fully responsible for understanding and obeying all rules associated with the Thorne Bros Classic Fishing Tournament and agree to abide by the decision of event officials relative to any changes to these rules needed to safely participate in the tournament. I agree to exhibit appropriate behavior before, during and after the tournament. Parties mentioned or event officials have the ability to dismiss me (or my dependent), without refund, in the event that mine (or my dependents) behavior endangers the safety or negatively affects the event, a person, facility or property of any kind.
I agree that I am completely responsible for following all federal, state and local boating restrictions and laws. I agree to stock my boat with one Coast Guard Approved Personal Floatation Device (PFD) per passenger, in accordance with Coast Guard Regulations, and to have one throwable PFD (such as a ring or cushion) on board the boat.
Photography Release
I hereby grant full permission to Thorne Bros LLC and all affiliates to use, reuse, reproduce, publish, or republish any photographs, videos, recordings or any other record of my participation in this event in any medium known now or in the future.
Severability
I agree that if any portion of this release and waiver of liability is determined as invalid, the remainder of this release will still be binding and enforceable.
I acknowledge and represent that I have carefully read and understand all terms of this Release and Waiver of Liability related to the Thorne Bros Classic Fishing Tournament along with all Thorne Bros Classic Tournament rules that are covered in the rules document. I understand that failure to abide by the rules in the rule document will result in disqualification and not being able to participate in the Thorne Bros Classic Tournament for Bass.
