    2026 `Saturday Morning Training Runs` Participant Registration & Waiver

  • All are welcome to participate in Rochester Running Club's distance training programs, Saturday Morning Training Runs (SMTR).

The Spring SMTR season begins February 14, 2026 and will continue until June 13, 2026. Our goal is preparer runners to race Med City, Grandma's and/or other Spring events. The run begins at 7:30am. SMTR is not held on Spring Classic (early May) or MedCity weekend (mid-May).

The Fall SMTR season begins in July to prepare runners for Twin Cities Marathon & 10M or other Fall events. The run begins at 7:15am. SMTR is not held on Reggie Oeltjen Douglas Trail Race, Lance Pfrimmer Memorial Race, nor Healthy Human Race weekends.

We are meeting at the Rochester Athletic Club (the RAC). Please park on the far east side of the lot. We will met inside the front doors of the RAC on cold days, and at the far east side of the parking lot otherwise.

All participants are required to sign a waiver at least once per year.
Parent or guardians are required to sign waivers for participants aged 17 or younger.

If financially able, we ask you to help pay for this program.  The RRC pays for the aid stations. Please help RRC support this program using credit/debit card or Paypal links below, or contributing cash in the SMTR tip jar at the RAC.

RRC's SMTR training plan will continue to leverage looped route combinations to support runners of all paces with distance goals (typically 10 mile through full marathon).

The distance between aid stations are typically 3.5 - 6 miles. Participants are encouraged to carry reuseable cups and extra fuel and fluids if/as necessary.

Runners who are financially able, please contribute:

    - $60 for both Spring & Fall Seasons combined ($40 for RRC member)
    - $30 for individual seasons (Spring or Fall) ($20 for RRC members)
    - $3 per Saturday run

Contributions are honor-based. Runners who are unable to contribute will not be identified or turned away.

Please contact RRC at rochesterrunningclub@gmail.com if you have suggestions, questions or concerns.

  • Help keep our running community strong by volunteering for an SMTR aid station, or an RRC event at least once per year.

  • WAIVER:

I know that running in and volunteering for organized group runs, social events, and races associated with the Rochester Running Club are potentially hazardous activities, which could cause injury or death. I will not participate in any club organized events, group training runs or social events, unless I am medically able and properly trained, and by my signature, I certify that I am medically able to perform all activities associated with the club and am in good health, and I am properly trained.  I agree to abide by all rules established by the club, including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever. I attest that I have read the rules of the club and agree to abide by them.  I assume all risks associated with participation in all club activities, which may include but not limited to, falls, physical contact with other participants/members, volunteers, race personnel, contract service providers, employees, and spectators including the potential of the contraction of a communicable disease resulting from contact with other participants/members, volunteers, race personnel, contract service providers, employees, and spectators. I assume all risks including: the effects of the weather; high heat and/or humidity; freezing cold temperatures; traffic and the conditions of the road including surrounding terrain. I assume all such risks being known, appreciated, and accepted by me.

I understand that bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers/strollers, roller skates or inline skates and animals are not allowed in club organized runs or events and I will abide by all rules of the club. The use of personal music devices with headphones while running is strongly discouraged. If you choose to use headphones, you do so at your own risk and must meet the following requirements: you must be able to hear traffic, be aware of the sounds around you and be able to hear instructions from course officials when speaking at a reasonable tone.

Having read this waiver and knowing these facts I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the Rochester Running Club, Terra Loco,  the City of Rochester MN, Road Runners Club of America, all club sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in the club activities, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or organizations named in this waiver.   I acknowledge that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and/or death.

I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use my photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of the club for any legitimate purposes.  I understand that the club does not provide for refunds in the event of cancellations of services, and by signing this waiver, I consent that I am not entitled to a refund if any club activities including events are cancelled.
