  • Baltimore Badminton Charity Open 2026

    Tournament will take place April 11-12
  • This is a fun badminton tournament held near Baltimore to assist victims and their families and to help organizations that provide relief to those devastated by events such as tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes, house fires and other disasters. The tournament was started in April 2005 by Rick Wiker and Elena Zhang.
    In 2020, Steven Page became the tournament director; Rick retained web and tournament software duties.

    We have several funds run by the American Red Cross to receive all the net proceeds of this tournament. Those funds are the National Disaster Relief Fund and the Chesapeake Region Emergency Fund.
    You can choose which fund you wish to support.

     

    Open Men's Singles: 8:45am - 2pm Saturday
    Senior Men's Singles (age 40+): 9am - 12pm Saturday
    Senior Men's Doubles (age 40+): 12pm - 3pm Saturday
    Junior Boy's & Girl's Doubles (age 18 & Under): 2pm - 5pm Saturday
    Senior Women' Doubles (age 40+): 1:30 - 3pm Saturday
    Senior Mixed Doubles(age 40+): 3pm - 6pm Saturday

    Open Women's Singles: 9:30am - 11:30am Sunday
    Open Women's Doubles: 11:30am - 2pm Sunday
    Open Men's Doubles: 8:45am - 2pm Sunday
    Open Mixed Doubles: 2pm - 7:30pm Sunday

    Age brackets: Junior: 10-18, Open: any age, Senior:40+.  Juniors may play up a division in open and seniors may play down a division in open.  Open age bracket may not play up or down.

    If you are under the age of 18 please have your Parent/Guardian fill out this form and submit payments.

    Cost: $25 for Adult/Senior event, $20 per junior event, $20 optional T-Shirt, $20 donation to Red Cross, plus any addtional donation you wish to make.

  • Player and Club information

  • Player skill definitions for the purpose of this tournament are as follows:

    An “A” player is nationally ranked or has been a finalist in a recent tournament.
    A “B” player was an “A” semifinalist or was a “B” finalist in a recent tournament.
    A “C” player routinely plays in a club.
    A “D” player is a beginner

  • Male Entries

    Juniors age 10-18, Open-any age, Senior age 40+ (You CANNOT play Open Singles AND Senior Singles due to time conflict.) If you don’t have a doubles partner and would like to be paired with another put REQUEST, if you are going to find your partner put TBD. $20 per junior event and $25 per Open and Senior events.

  • T-Shirt order form

    The T-shirt will be black with this years logo on the front. On the back, your name and sponsors will be listed. The cost of the shirt is $20.00. Pre-order for the shirts will close on March 27th at 12:00 noon. We will have a limited supply for sale on the day of the tournament, with out a name on the back.

    A donation to the Red Cross is required in addition to the events cost; $20 is the minimum and is already added into your subtotal. If you would like to, please enter any additional donation you would like to make! And select which department within the Red Cross you would like your donation to go to!
  • Waiver and Release of Liability

  • I hereby confirm participant is in good health and able to participate in the activity. Also, I have been advised to consult with a licensed physician prior to participation in the activity. I acknowledge the activity may involve both apparent and inherent risks and dangers of bodily injury or death and damage to property. I fully accept and acknowledge the activities may involve risks, and I hereby assume all dangers and risks associated with the participant and will be responsible for the same. I further understand that concussion information is available at www.cdc.gov/concussion.

    I acknowledge that Baltimore County, Maryland, the Recreation Council, the American Red Cross and their respective employees, directors, officers, volunteers, members and any other participant, entity, party or person involved in any regard with the Activity or the Activity premises and their respective agents , personal representatives, heirs, employees, contractors, successors and assigns (each an activity representative and collectively "the activity representatives"), shall not be responsible liable in any regard or manner for any and all property damage or bodily Injury (including serious physical injury or even death) incurred by participant or any party related thereto, as a result of his/her participation in the activity.

    I have read, fully understand and hereby freely sign approve of, and agree to the terms of this Registration Form. I hereby expressly and forever unconditionally release discharge covenant not to sue, waive my rights and remedies, and agree to hold harmless and indemnify the activity representatives from any and all claims, costs, demands, losses, damages, or expenses, and from all acts of active or passive negligence or other fault on the part of the activity representatives associated with, in whole or in part, participant's involvement with the activity. I shall inform the Recreation Council in writing if any Information provided in this Registration Form is incorrect or changes through the course of the activity. I shall present a government issued photo identification card including, but not limited to my driver's license, passport or United States Visa to the activity representative for review, if requested at the time I submit this Registration Form to the recreation council.

    You acknowledge and agree that photographs and videos may be taken during the event. These images may be used by the event organizers for promotional, marketing, and informational purposes in accordance with applicable laws. This may include, but is not limited to, use on websites, social media, printed materials, and other promotional channels. Your continued participation in the event constitutes your consent to the use of your likeness as described.
