Academic Program Agreement

The DHA Academic Program is designed for students who are working at or reasonably close to grade level and are prepared to engage with grade-level curriculum in a classroom setting. Due to the structure of our two-day academic model, we are not able to provide remedial instruction, pull-out services, or additional staffing to support students who are significantly below grade level. We value our partnership with parents, who serve as the primary educators. Parents are responsible for selecting an appropriate grade placement and for providing the necessary instruction and practice at home to support their child’s progress. DHA Academic teachers and administration reserve the right to require a student to repeat a grade level or to move to a lower grade placement (within one grade of the student’s age range) if it is determined that the current placement is not appropriate. This determination may be made at any point during the school year. In cases where a student is unable to be successful in the Academic Program due to significant academic gaps, DHA reserves the right to discontinue Academic Program enrollment when doing so is in the best interest of the student, allowing families to pursue instructional settings and resources better suited to the student’s academic needs. In such cases, the student would still be eligible to participate in the one-day Enrichment Program, provided that behavioral or other concerns did not contribute to the decision. These decisions are made with the student’s best interest in mind, recognizing that the DHA Academic Program is not the best fit for every student’s current needs. By enrolling in the DHA Academic Program, parents acknowledge and agree to the expectations and policies described above and understand that these guidelines are intended to support student success.
Enrollment in the Academic Program requires families to purchase the curriculum listed on the required curriculum list for each grade level. The required curriculum list will be provided to enrolled families by the end of May for the upcoming school year. By enrolling in the Academic Program, families agree to purchase the required curriculum materials for their student(s) prior to the first day of school. The DHA Academic Program is designed to function as a partnership between the classroom teacher and the homeschool parent. Parents are expected to work with their child at home to complete weekly assignments provided by the classroom teacher in order to maintain appropriate pacing and progress within the curriculum.

DHA T-Shirts

As an added bonus for families who have enrolled prior to Back to School Night, each student will receive a DHA t-shirt included with the first month's tuition. Use the size chart below to determine the correct size for your student(s). Please note, we will be unable to provide t-shirts to students who enroll after Back to School Night.
We recommend ordering at least ONE SIZE UP to allow for your child to grow between now and the start of the school year! We will not be able to exchange shirts for a different size if the wrong size is ordered, so please be sure to choose your sizes carefully on the form below.

The only exception to this policy is: If your family is placed on a waiting list and is still on the waiting list by the time school begins, then your family may email to request a refund of your enrollment fee at that time if you do not wish to remain on the wait list throughout the school year.
