The 2027 Miss Alaska Elementary America State Pageant is an official state preliminary for the Miss Elementary America Pageant.

State Winners will have the opportunity to represent their state in Little Rock, Arkansas at the 2027 Miss Elementary America, Miss Junior High School America, Miss High School America and Miss Collegiate America Pageants in June/July 2027. 

AGE DIVISIONS

Based on Contestant’s Grade as of Fall 2026:

Kindergarten - (Pre-K)

Jr. Elementary - (Kindergarten-1st Grade)

Elementary - (2nd-3rd Grade)

Sr. Elementary - (4th-5th Grade)

*Note: At the national pageant the contestants will be broken into 7 age groups (K-6th).

PHASES OF COMPETITION

● Interview: The interview competition is worth 40% of the overall score. Each contestant will take part in an individual, panel style interview. Interview is 2 minutes for contestants in K-1st grade. Interview is 3 minutes for contestants in 2nd-5th grade. This competition will focus on the ability to speak confidently and portray one’s individual personality. This is a fun, upbeat interview where you can make a memorable first impression and let your personality shine. 

● Evening Gown: The evening gown competition is worth 40% of the overall score. Each contestant will take the stage in the formal wear gown of their choosing. This is the time to walk confidently and capture the entire audience’s attention with your elegance and grace. It is important for one to be confident and comfortable in their evening gown presentation. A full length gown is required for this phase.

● Fashion Runway: Fashion runway is worth 20% of the overall score. This is an exciting and upbeat phase of competition. Contestants are encouraged to wear a red-carpet worthy outfit that appropriately shows off their personality and confidence. This may include a stylish set, dress, jumpsuit, romper or cocktail look. It is important for one to have fun and show their true personality during this phase of competition. Attire requirement is an outfit that showcases your personal style. (No Hats, No Jeans, No Flip Flops).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Headshot

A contestant headshot must be submitted by October 28th, 2026 for
photogenic and social media posting. Photo must be in color, high resolution, headshot only. No full body shots are acceptable. JPG format required. 

 Opening Number 

Elementary, Junior High, High School and Collegiate contestants will wear an all-white outfit of their choice for opening number.

Contestant Resume 

Must be only one page and follow the sample provided below. The completed resume should be saved as a PDF and emailed to missakjhc@gmail.com by October 28th, 2026. 

Ad Pages

One Mandatory Ad page (full page) will be due to the director by October 28th, 2026 in PDF format. The ad page fee is $250 and may be sponsored by parents, family and friends, or businesses. Lots of contestants opt to have 10 people donate a $25 good luck wish for their $250 ad page! Additional information and examples will be sent out once you are a registered contestant.

Optional Competitions

These competitions are completely separate and optional from the overall title. They will be awarded separately on stage before crowning!

Black and White Photogenic

Enter a Black and White photo of your choice in the optional Black and White Photogenic competition. This contest is $20 and you may enter additional photos for $10 each. Winner will receive a gift and will be recognized on stage!

Age Division Cover Model Award

 Awarded to the contestant with the most ad page sales in her division. (Minimum of 3 ad pages to qualify) Winner will receive a SASH, CASH scholarship and will be named our divisional Cover Model Winner! *Please note this winner does not advance to the national competition, however, will receive FREE ENTRY into next year's state pageant if you choose to compete! 

*YES, it is possible to win your age group AND win divisional Cover Model!

Randy Binion-Olson (Community Service) Award 

The Community Service Contest has a $50 entry fee and requires contestants to submit a digital scrapbook. Scrapbooks can be created using PowerPoint, Canva, Google Slides or any similar platform. Each community service event must include a photo of the contestant actively participating and a written description explaining the service provided. Entries will be judged by an independent panel of judges based on the amount of service completed, the quality of service and overall impact of the work. Community service activities between October 27th, 2025 and November 8th, 2026 are eligible for entry. The winner of the Community Service Award will be recognized onstage and receive a cash scholarship in honor of Randy Binion-Olson. 

NEXT STEPS

Step 1: Complete the entry form below and select the school, city or nickname title that you would like to represent at the state pageant. These titles are given on a first come first serve basis.

Step 2: Submit your full entry fee or $100 non-refundable deposit using the link below. Payments also accepted through Venmo (@Miss_Alaska_EJHC). Payment not required to submit your application. Please note, Local title sashes cannot be ordered until a deposit is received. 

Once these two steps are completed, you will be put on the official contestant list and start receiving all contestant communications. A link will be provided to submit your Headshot, Ad Page and Resume prior to the  October 28th deadline date. A contestant handbook will be accessible in May 2026. We are excited to have you join us!
