    Rate: $30.00 CAD per dancer

    Payment Methods: E-Transfer or Credit Card (+$2 credit card processing fee if paid by card) 

    Schedule

    Noon - 1:00 PM: Intro to Tango, taught by Jorge Olguin

    1:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Afternoon milonga (includes snacks). During the first hour, community members will help you get settled into the experience.

    • Island Embrace Tango Marathon is committed to creating a safe, respectful, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for everyone. By registering for and attending this event, I agree to the following:

       

      Respect & Consent

      I will treat everyone present with respect, dignity, and courtesy.
      I will practice clear, ongoing consent in all dance interactions.
      Consent may be withdrawn at any time, including mid-dance; a “thank you” may mean the dance ends.
      I will respect physical boundaries and personal space.
      Teaching or correcting another dancer requires their consent.
      I will follow the event etiquette and organizer instructions.


      Prohibited Conduct
      I understand that the following will not be tolerated:

      Sexual assault, harassment, unwanted touching, or sexualized comments or advances.
      Harassment, intimidation, bullying, discrimination, stalking, or coercive behaviour.
      Aggressive, threatening, disruptive behaviour, or retaliation against someone who raises a concern.
      Excessive intoxication that compromises safety or consent.
      Failure to follow organizer or safety staff instructions.


      Alcohol & Substances

      Being intoxicated does not excuse inappropriate behaviour.
      Organizers may restrict participation if safety concerns arise.


      Reporting & Accountability

      I am encouraged to report behaviour that makes me or others feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
      Reports may be made to any organizer and will be handled with care and discretion.
      Organizers may take action at their discretion, including warnings, monitoring, suspension, or removal from the event without refund. Serious violations may result in immediate removal and bans from future events.


      Community Responsibility

      I agree to contribute to a culture of care, accountability, and mutual respect, and to look out for one another.

  • 1. Event Cancellation Policy

    The Island Embrace Tango Marathon reserves the right to cancel or postpone the event due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to public health emergencies (e.g., COVID), government restrictions, natural disasters, or other circumstances beyond our control.

    In the event of a cancellation by the organizers:Taste of Tango registrants will have the option to either:

    Full Refund: Receive a full refund of all registration fees paid minus a $5 CAD admin fee.

    Credit/Transfer: Apply registration fees to a future Island Embrace Tango Marathon event. No admin fee applies to transfers.

    The organizers will not be responsible for additional expenses incurred by attendees (e.g., travel, accommodation).

    2. Participant Cancellation / Refund Policy

    We understand that plans change. Refunds and transfers are handled as follows:

    Refunds:Between February 26th, 2026 – March 26th, 2026 half refunds are available.

    From March 27th, 2026 onwards, no refunds are available.

    Transfers: Registration may be transferred to another dancer up to the start of the event. No admin fee applies to transfers. Transfers must be communicated in writing to the organizers.

    3. Additional Notes

    All refunds will be processed using the original payment method. The organizers reserve the right to update this policy if government or public health regulations change.
