Characteristics:
Storming Robots summer workshops are not “play-based robotic”. We are structured, engineering-focused programs that build real computational thinking and problem-solving skills—while still being engaging and fun.
Key advantages over typical play-based camps.
- Students work with real programming and robotics concepts -
- logic, algorithms, sensors, debugging), not just drag-and-drop play or scripted activities.
- Computational thinking as the core -
- We emphasize decomposition, flowcharts, “think first, then build,” and systematic testing—skills that transfer directly to math, science, and future CS courses.
- Progressive learning, not one-off project -
- Workshops are tied to a long-term roadmap in robotics and computer science, so what students learn in summer can continue into the school-year track and competitions.
- Small groups with technically strong instructors
- 4 to 8 : 1 students/instructor ratio
- Instructors are selected for both depth in CS/engineering and the ability to coach students through genuine problem-solving, not just supervise “activities.”
- Substance students can show later -
- Students leave with meaningful projects, code, and engineering artifacts that can be referenced in future coursework, portfolios, and competition preparation—not just a “fun week at camp.”
Format
8 weeks of Robotics and Adv. Programming Workshops for Novice to Advanced - Prepare student for an AI future.
2 groups: Gr.5-8 and Gr.8-12 - Grades 5–8 and Grades 8–12. Build engineering rigor thru fully autonomous robotics & CS — gain a strong edge for the new school year.
