RMPLC Training Code of Conduct
RMPLC Values
Respect—We treat everyone—both people and dogs—with fairness, kindness, and dignity. We value and support one another, always willing to lend a helping hand. Unsportsmanlike behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
Passion—We love our dogs and everything about them! That love drives our energy, focus, and motivation. We work hard to help our dogs and each other reach our full potential, inspiring others to do the same along the way.
Team—We believe this is a team sport between the handler and their dog. Our club supports one another with shared knowledge, encouragement, and dedication to hard work, helping each team be the best they can be.
Excellence—We’re always striving to be the best. From training to competitions, we uphold high standards and constantly push ourselves and our dogs to reach our full potential, aiming for continuous improvement and the best team dynamic.
RMPLC Training Day Guidelines
-
Respect the land and the landowner: pick up after yourself and your dog (including, but not limited to trash, dead birds, flagging tape, spent shotgun shells, etc.).
-
Keep vehicles on roads designated for use by RMPLC. If you are unsure whether a road or portion of the grounds may be used, do not use until you have clarified usage. Do not drive on planted grounds or growing crops (please refer to the maps provided in membership packet).
-
DO NOT drive on extremely muddy roads, from irrigation or weather. Never leave the road to drive around water covered roads.
-
Leave all gates as you found them. Either opened or closed.
-
Avoid and do not disturb livestock on the property.
-
Shotgun and training pistols are allowed during training. It is a MUST that proper firearm safety is always exercised. Live shot birds may be used. Do not shoot within 200 yds of buildings/roads.
-
When training and shooting live birds on the grounds, a current Colorado small game license is required by the Colorado Division of Wildlife. You must also have a receipt from the bird purchase for the birds in possession.
-
No target practice or hunting on the grounds.
-
Due to fire potential, no smoking. Please use caution when using 209 primers.
-
Members can bring a participating guest, one time. After that the guest must join as a member of RMPLC. Members must always be with their guest and are responsible and liable for their guest.
-
As per the RMPLC rules, a member may run up to three dogs. If a member or pro-member, is training more than three of their own dogs, the owner(s) of the additional dogs must be current member(s) of the RMPLC.
-
No alcohol prior to or during training.
-
Report all misuse of the grounds and/or violations with appropriate details to a board member (name, license plate, description, etc.).
-
All members must comply with laws and regulations for the State of Colorado and the Colorado Division of Wildlife.
