What This Course Covers:
This Texas License to Carry (LTC) course meets all State of Texas requirements and includes both classroom instruction and a shooting proficiency qualification.
Course Content Includes:
• Texas laws related to carrying a handgun
• Use of force and deadly force
• Legal responsibilities and consequences
• Situational awareness and threat assessment
• Firearm safety and safe storage
• Active shooter awareness
• What to do during and after a defensive incident
• Legal considerations following a self-defense situation
Testing & Qualification Requirements:
• Written exam: Multiple choice and True/False
– Minimum passing score: 70%
• Shooting proficiency:
– 50 rounds fired at a B-27 target
– Distances: 3, 7, and 15 yards
– Minimum passing score: 175 out of 250 points
*A certificate of completion will be issued only after all course requirements are successfully met.*
Classroom and range training are held on separate days.
Range fees are not included in the course fee and must be paid by the student directly to the range on the day of qualification.
