    More About Camp:

Crossnore Adventures Summer Camp is an exciting and immersive experience for 3rd through 12th graders, designed to embrace curiosity and build confidence through physical activity and reflection. Our team utilizes a unique adventure-based learning model that blends the core tenets of experiential education–like Challenge by Choice–with resilience-building principles.

The Facilitator in Training (FIT) program for youth grades 8–12 is designed specifically with leadership skill building in mind. This structured approach empowers older youth to step into purposeful leadership roles while continuing to grow in personal responsibility, self-awareness, and social-emotional realms. FITs will take on a dual role: part learner, part co-leader. Through training sessions and real-time application, they will be equipped with the skills and confidence to co-facilitate activities alongside MHA staff, mentor younger participants, and reflect on their own growth as emerging leaders, allowing them an opportunity to connect and contextualize the activities to their lived experiences. The core components of the FIT program are the structured leadership curriculum, co-facilitation and mentorship opportunities, independent living skill integration, and reflective practice and personal growth journals.

Each camp day will run 9:00-3:00, except for Friday, which will end at 1p after the culminating celebration cookout. The fee includes lunch and snacks each day, a t-shirt, and a reusable water bottle. There will be an additional option for before and after camp care, from 7:30 AM - 9 AM and 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM. Before and after care are an additional $100 for the week.
