"In Hand III" Submission Form

The Art School at Old Church invites you to apply for In Hand III, our annual juried cup show. This exhibition highlights the drinking vessel, showcasing a variety of creative approaches to its form. It will be held in person at the Mikhail Zakin Gallery in Demarest, NJ. We're excited to announce that this year's juror will be Alison Palmer.
About the Juror

Alison Palmer went to Kansas City Art Institute for their foundation program and graduated with high distinction from California College of Arts And Crafts with a BFA in ceramics. Alison ran her low fire tableware business with her husband Steve Katz for 25 year. In 2008 they closed the wholesale business and reinvented themselves after discovering a passion for one-of-a-kind and limited production wood fired wares. Alison fired both her wood and soda fired kilns and developed a program to bring ceramic artists to the area by hosting workshops at her studio in South Kent, CT.
Submission Guidelines:
- Size: no larger than 10” tall and 7” wide.
- Open to ceramic interpretations of a “Cup, mug, shot glass, yunomi, tumbler, stein” etc.
- Please no sets
- All work must be available for sale - gallery takes a commission of 35% of sales.
- Open to any artists, ages 18 and over
- All accepted and delivered pieces must be accompanied by a signed consignment contract and a billing information for the return shipping of any unsold work.
Timeline:
- Call Open: March 1- May 8,2026
- Entry Deadline: May 8, 2026, 11:59 pm
- Results Announced via email: May 19-20, 2026
- Hand-Deliver Deadline: June 1-5 during open hours 10 am - 4 pm
- Shipped Work Delivery Deadline: May 26- June 3rd *no deliveries on the weekend
- Exhibition Dates: June, 11 2026- July 24, 2026
- Opening Reception: Thursday June 11, 2026 6-8pm
- Unsold work will be shipped for return starting: July 27, 2026
- Unsold work in person pickup: July 27-30, 2026 during open hours 10 am - 4 pm,
- Jury fee: $35 per entry
