    2026 HORSE SHOW APPLICATION

    All ASHBA charter club shows must be a star show, USEF, or USEF LITE

    • Management agrees to submit show results using the ASHBA template within 15 days of the last day of competition.
      Results:
      • ASHBA will record results for a Non-Affiliate Show
     
    *Show results are recorded in the order received, with priority given to USEF, USEF Lite, and Star Shows. Non-Affiliate Shows that submit results within 15 days will be prioritized over those submitted after the 15-day window. See the Competition Resources page on the ASHBA website.
    • $75 fee with a completed application. (See attached Star Show Guidelines)
    • Management is responsible for enforcing rules, resolving disputes, ensuring the safety and welfare of participants and horses, and must enforce the USEF banned and suspended list and the US Center for Safe Sport Ineligibility List.

    • Shows should be at least 100 miles apart from other shows unless pre-existing or a waiver is requested. Geographical areas, such as Kentucky,
      may not require waiver. The goal is to support shows while ensuring strong participation.
    • Management agrees to submit a copy of the prize list and schedule one (1) month before the first date of the show.
    • ASHBA members in good standing are eligible for year-end awards, CH Points and National Select Series classes.
    • The prize list should state that classes will be judged using the American Saddlebred and Half Saddlebred breed rules for competition found at this

    • Management agrees to submit show results using the ASHBA template within 15 days of the last day of competition.
    • Shows must include ASHBA as an additional insured on the Certificate of Liability Insurance and send to ASHBA.
      Results:
      • ASHBA will record show results.
      • Horses are eligible for ASHBA year-end awards, CH points and National Select Series classes.
      • Shows are eligible for ASHBA horse show grants. 100% of horse show application fees are awarded to shows that apply for grants.
      • ASHBA will verify memberships for the show if sent one week before the show starts in an Excel spreadsheet.
    • $75 fee with a completed application.

    As an authorized representative of the above named competition, I agree to the following:

    TO HOLD ASHBA, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND ASSIGNS HARMLESS FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DAMAGES, LOSSES, LIABILITIES, COSTS, AND EXPENSES, INCLUDING REASONABLE ATTORNEY'S FEES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO:

    A. ANY INJURY (INCLUDING DEATH) OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY ARISING FROM AN ACTIVITY OR EVENT
    B. NEGLIGENCE, GROSS NEGLIGENCE, OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT OF THE SHOW, ITS EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, CONTRACTORS, OR PARTICIPANTS

    THIS AGREEMENT SHALL BE GOVERNED BY AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF KENTUCKY.

    • ASHBA STAR SHOW GUIDELINES

    • The ASHBA Star Show provides a structured template to support horse shows,
      adhering to American Saddlebred and Half Saddlebred Breed and ASHBA rules and regulations. This framework enables efficient horse show management without the requirement of an on-site steward. 100% of Star Show fees are fully returned to horse shows through grants.

      Applications for horse show grants are available online at the competition resources.

      All ASHBA Star Shows must follow American Saddlebred and Half Saddlebred Breed Rules to ensure consistency and fairness and adhere to the ASHBA Code of Conduct

      SHOW MANAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS

    • Rule Adherence

      • Participants, including riders, trainers, and owners will adhere to American Saddlebred and Half Saddlebred Breed Rules and ASHBA rules and regulations.
      • Violations should be reported to horse show management for appropriate action.

      Officials

      • Shows that utilize USEF-licensed officials receive priority consideration for ASHBA horse show grants.

      Documentation

      • All entries, results, and relevant documents should be accurately recorded and maintained by show management and submitted to ASHBA on the deadlines.

      Safety & Welfare

      • The well-being of horses, riders, show management, and spectators is paramount.
      • Show management should ensure the environment is safe and that all participants are following proper safety protocol.
      • Grants may be available to support EMS/Ambulance to support shows. Although it is not required, it is highly recommended that shows employ EMS and/or an Ambulance for the duration of the show dates.

      Dispute Resolution

      • In the absence of a steward, show management is responsible for handling disputes promptly and fairly with a clear process of communication with all participants
      • Disputes that involve the ASHBA Code of Conduct can be filed through the ASHBA office.

      Communication

      • Clear and timely communication should be maintained between management and show participants.
      • Announcements regarding scheduling changes, rules, or any changes to the prize list should be made promptly and clearly
    • By adhering to these guidelines, ASHBA Star Shows can ensure the highest standard of competition, safety, and experience for all involved.
