CPAT Information:
The candidate physical ability test (CPAT) consists of eight separate events. The CPAT is a sequence of events requiring you to progress along a predetermined path from event to event in a continuous manner. This test was developed to allow fire departments to obtain pools of trainable candidates who are physically able to perform essential job tasks at fire scenes. Additional resources including an online orientation video and preparation guide will be avaliable after you complete the registration process.
Challenging the CPAT Test:
Any candidates may elect to “Challenge” the test on any scheduled practice day. If a candidate PASSES the "Challange” they will receive CPAT certification valid for one year from the pass date. If a candidate FAILS the “Challenge” they are eligible to return to the next practice session. On the Final Test day all candidates will be required to attempt the test in its entirity.
