Prevalence of Burnout in SBOT's
Learning Outcomes:
1. Increase awareness of burnout among SBOTs in Arizona and understand its prevalence and impact within the profession.
2. Identify practical strategies to prevent and manage burnout, promote self-advocacy, and explore ways this knowledge can lead to systemic changes in school districts.
This presentation will be discussing burnout - what it is, how it affects school-based occupational therapy practitioners in Arizona, and how common it is based on her research. The speaker will share the main contributing factors to burnout identified through findings, and offer practical strategies that may help reduce or manage these feelings. The goal is to spread awareness of the prevalence of burnout and how it can be combated to ensure students are getting the quality of service they deserve.
About the Speaker:
Averi Bohman is an occupational therapy student at A.T. Still University working towards her clinical doctorate in OT.
