AGE AS AT
Age at 01/01/2026 for all Solos, Duos & Trios & Singing groups.
Duos & Trios & Singing Groups Age will be taken by the oldest competitor.

AGE GROUPS
6 & Under, 8 & Under, 10 & Under, 12 & Under, 14 & Under, Seniors (15 to 18 years) & Adults

TIME LIMITS
6U to 8U 3 minutes, 10U to Adults 3 minutes & 30 seconds.
Duos, Trios & Groups 4 minutes
Performers exceeding the time limits will have 5 points deducted before the Adjudication is given a critique. Music will be faded after a 5 second grace period.

THE ALL MIGHTY PROPS
Props have a strict 45 second setup and pack-up time.

SECTION CRITERIA

5 Under and 6 Under
Performers competing in 5U and 6U sections do not have formal section citeria.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
These sections are designed to be encouraging, fun and confidence building.
Judging focuses on participation, enjoyment, stage confidence building.
Our goal for 5U and 6U age groups is to provide a positive competiton experience.
Allowing our youngest singers to feel safe, supported and proud to step onto stage.

SECTIONS: My First Time Ever On Stage, Novice, Restricted, Open and Elite.

MY FIRST EVER TIME ON STAGE: If this is your, first EVER time on stage, from the age of 8U up, you choose My First Time Ever On Stage. This is designed to give them confidence performing for the VERY FIRST time on stage.

The next time you enter, you MUST enter NOVICE.

NOVICE: If you have performed before but have NOT placed at any competition, you enter NOVICE. This section is designed for singers who are new to competitions and have NOT placed at any competition or eisteddfod.

When you place in this section, you move to Restricted.

RESTRICTED: This section is for singers who have placed in Novice or Specially Restricted section at any Competition or Eisteddfod.

When you WIN in a restricted section you move to OPEN sections.

OPEN: This section is for singers who have WON a Restricted section at any Competition or Eisteddfod.

When you WIN in an OPEN section you move to ELITE sections.

ELITE: This section is for singers who have WON an OPEN section at any Competition or Eisteddfod. If after a year you have NOT WON in an ELITE section, you move back to OPEN sections.

GENRES AVAILABLE

You may only enter each style once. A performer can never have more than one routine in a section, unless SING IT OUT LOUD has combined a section due to lack of entries. You may not repeat and routines, unless it is being performed in The Ultimate Singer Top 10.

UP TEMPO A song that is up-tempo, happy, cheerful & peppy.

BALLAD A song that tells a story, it can be dramatic, funny, or romantic.

ROCK, JAZZ & BLUES A song that showcases a strong sense of beat, rhythm, and expressive style. Performances may draw from the energy and drive of rock or the melodic and rhythmic variation of jazz and blues, including scat or soulful vocal phrasing.

AUSTRALIAN ARTIST UPTEMPO OR BALLAD An uptempo or ballad song from any Australian Artist. Examples of artists include... John Farnham, Kylie Minogue, Tina Arena, Jimmy Barnes, Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy etc.

COUNTRY Any song from the Country Genre

CLASSICAL & FOLK A song that draws from either the refined European classical tradition or the storytelling and cultural roots of folk music. Performances may feature formal vocal technique, artistic interpretation, or authentic folk style that reflects traditional melodies and themes. This section celebrates both the sophistication of classical repertoire and the heartfelt simplicity of folk expression.

MUSICAL THEATRE IN COSTUME  Must be performed to music from musicals, TV, film or stage, and it must be in costume.

SONG FROM MOVIE OR TV SHOW  Any song from any movie or TV show.

SONG FROM DISNEY OR PIXAR  Any song from a Disney or Pixar, movie or tv show

SONG AND DANCE  Routine must contain both singing & dancing. Singing or vocals are not permitted on backing tracks. However, we do allow for vocals in the dance section only.

YOUR OWN CHOICE  This section is open to all genres and acts that do not typically fit into any other categories or if you have a double up of songs.

ORIGINAL SONG  This is either a solo singer-songwriter or as part of a small ensemble. They must present an original song as written by themselves or a member of their small ensemble. Adjudication based on both composition of song and vocal proficiency of performer/s
