2026 Clovernook Center Summer Camps
  • Clovernook Center Summer Camps 2026

Welcome to our Summer Camp registration portal for 2026! Summer will be here before we know it! ***Please read the information and eligibility guidelines for each camp carefully. We have added new camps and made changes to some requirements for existing camps.*** Parents/guardians may be contacted about specific needs or if a camp registration needs to be discussed. Please only sign up for the camps your child is eligible for. All registration fields should be answered honestly and completely - this allows us to plan for adequate/qualified adult supervision and activities, which help ensure a safe and successful camp experience for all campers and staff/volunteers. It is our intent to be able to provide a camp experience for ALL students who are blind or visually impaired - and who may have additional disabilities/needs (as well as some siblings at select day camps). (Please understand that while we do our best to offer a camp experience for all children who are visually impaired or blind, not all camps will be appropriate for all students due to age/grade level, physical demands, behavioral concerns, etc.) If you have questions about eligibility or need to discuss scholarship opportunities, please contact Kelly Lusk at klusk@clovernook.org or 615-305-7835. We NEVER want financial need to be a reason a child cannot attend camp - we do have a limited number of partial scholarships for Clovernook Camp Abilities Ohio.
  • ***Beyond summer camps, we also offer programming year-round with Clovernook Center! Please see all of our other Adaptive Sports and Leisure Programming offerings and sign up at: bit.ly/ClovernookAdaptiveEvents

Under the supervision of a certified orientation and mobility specialist this camp will help children with visual impairments learn how to navigate their environment safely, effectively, and efficiently. This camp is designed for children who are working on body/safety awareness, positional concepts, search techniques, and/or beginning or intermediate cane skills, etc. Camp will be at the Clovernook Procter Center, 1574 Claretta Dr., Cincinnati, OH 45231, as well as other locations TBD, and will run Monday-Friday. Students will need to bring a water bottle each day of camp (snacks will be provided). Dropoff can occur as early as 8:45am and pickup will be promptly at 12:00pm. Students who wish to attend this camp must be able to follow directions and participate in camp activities. Students must be able to walk or motor (if in a wheelchair) at least 15-20 minutes at a time for outings. If the staff feels that a student cannot safely participate in off-campus activities and field trips, other arrangements/activities may be substituted - any concerns regarding safety/behavior or changes in programming will be communicated to parents/guardians. This camp will not be able to accommodate siblings.
  • Socialization and Leisure (Respite) Day Camp - Incoming Kindergarten-12th grade – June 1-5, 2026 – 1pm-4pm - $25 tuition

Under the supervision of certified teachers of students with visual impairments (TVIs) and orientation and mobility specialists (COMS), as well as other teachers and therapists, this respite-level camp is designed with a multi-sensory approach for children with visual impairments and additional disabilities who need a very structured camp experience with one-on-one high-level support needs. Camp will be at the Clovernook Procter Center, 1574 Claretta Dr., Cincinnati, OH 45231, as well as other possible locations TBD, and will run Monday-Friday. Students will need to bring a water bottle each day of camp (snacks will be provided). Dropoff can occur as early as 12:45pm and pickup will be promptly at 4:00pm. This camp can accommodate one sibling per student with a visual impairment. • NEW - GIRLS ONLY- Sleepaway Transition Camp for ADVANCED-LEVEL Highschoolers/Recent Graduates up to age 21 ONLY - June 10-13, 2026 - $295 tuition (Some partial scholarships are available. - Contact Kelly Lusk for more information - 615-305-7835 or klusk@clovernook.org) or if student is over 21 and interested in this camp.

This is a sleepaway, overnight camp (exact location TBA) designed to work on advanced-level transition skills including orientation & mobility, assistive technology, independent living, and career/post-secondary educational options/information. Under the supervision of certified teachers of students with visual impairments (TVIs)/orientation and mobility (O&M) specialists/other teachers this camp will help high school students learn and explore transition topics at an advanced and independent level. While this camp will still be FUN, the atmosphere will be more of a learning environment with intensive work on advanced orientation and mobility skills, navigating public transit options in the community, high-level use of assistive technologies such as iPads/Apple products, etc. This camp is not for students who are at a beginning or intermediate level in orientation & mobility - if they are cane users, they should be well-versed in cane travel as there will not be basic cane techniques covered at this camp. If you are not sure if your child would be appropriate for this camp, please reach out to confirm before registering. All overnight accommodations, meals, and snacks will be provided. A full packing list and other information will be provided closer to camp. This camp will not be able to accommodate siblings. Students who wish to attend this camp must be able to follow directions and participate in camp activities. Due to the nature of this camp and the setting/number of campers, all participants for this camp must be able to independently take care of daily/basic needs (i.e., toileting, showering/bathing, dressing, feeding, etc.), as well as be ambulatory/able to walk at least 15-20 minute periods at a time. There will be a behavior and a technology contract signed by both students and parents and students may be sent home if these contracts are violated. Similar to Clovernook Camp Abilities Ohio, there will be no technology allowed except for use during assistive technology sessions (please review CCAO Technology info above for more information). The only exceptions to this new policy will be the following: if medically necessary such as for blood sugar monitoring. If this is the case, you will need a doctor's note. Please contact Kelly Lusk prior to registering for camp if your child has a medically-necessary need for the above technologies. All technology exemption approvals must happen prior to registration and at least 2 weeks prior to camp. Parents will be given cell phone numbers for camp leadership staff and can call/text us at any time day or night if you need to reach your student. In the event of an illness, injury, or emergency, we will contact parents/guardians and/or the emergency contact on file. Please do not sign your child up for this camp if you or they are not willing to abide by this technology policy.
