Join us for the third level of our group guitar class this spring!
This class is designed to help your student become a proficient guitar player. Guitar 103 includes a ten-week group class and five one-on-one lessons with one of our wonderful guitar educators.

Your student will learn:
- Scales: Open G, E major scale, closed position minor pentatonic scale; ascending/descending at 90 bpm quarter notes
- Chords: Open C7, A7, G7, E7, D7 and B7; moveable power chord shapes with the root on the low E string and A string
- Technique: Perform slides, hammer one and pull offs along with recordings of solos that we learn and while improvising over an E or A blues; Ghost notes and “percussive” muting and being able to apply this to chord progressions; Read and perform a four bar chord progression that you write in time at 60bpm
- Repertoire: Two pop songs
- Improvisation: E and A blues at 90bpm; Perform a chorus of rhythm and a chorus of soloing
If your student has not joined us for a group guitar class before but you think they may be eligible for Group Guitar 103 instead of Group Guitar 101 or 102, here are the required prerequisites for this class:
- The student should be able to perform open C major and open E minor pentatonic scales, ascending/descending at 90 bpm quarter notes.
- The student should be able to play CAGED chords (if in open position only, this includes the open F chord).
- The student should be able to perform any scale by alternate picking each note, perform any scale by anchoring hand either at the bridge or above low E string, and be able to strum the DDUUD rhythm with a four bar chord progression with the chords listed above. The student should be able to transition chords without stopping to a metronome set to 60 bpm.
