This class is for more experienced beginners aged 7 to 11 years old.

Topics covered in this course include:
- Reading music: Middle C to High C and Middle C to Bass G
- Reviewing and expanding knowledge of basic rhythm and note values
- Chords: Review C, D, G, A Major & minor; add E, F, B Major & minor and blocked chords & broken chords with inversion
- Scales: Review C Major & G Major scales (one octave), add playing separately AND with both hands & contrary motion on C Major
- Improvising on C Major (review), G Major, and A minor
- Learning five to six simple piano pieces, playing with both hands
If your student has not joined us for a group piano class before but you think they may be eligible for Group Piano 102 instead of Group Piano 101, here are the required prerequisites for this class:
- The student should know how to read Treble Clef (Middle C to High C) and Bass Clef from Middle C to low C.
- The student should understand basic rhythm (quarter notes, half notes, dotted half notes, and whole notes).
- The student should know finger pattterns for C Major, F Major and G Major.
