Have you ever wanted to get to know others your age who also are deaf or hard of hearing? The Learning Experience and Adventure Program (LEAP) offers this opportunity virtually for middle schoolers to connect with other students who are deaf or hard of hearing!
Activities and games are run by adults who are deaf or hard of hearing and use LSL to communicate.

Eligibilty Requirements:
LEAP welcomes registrants who are in Middle School; 6th to 8th grade (11-14 years old). To qualify, registrants must have a bilateral or unilateral hearing loss. Registrants must also use Listening and Spoken Language as the primary method of communication. Remote Live and Automated Captioning are used during the LEAP program. The program is provided in English. If you have limited English proficiency, please make the LEAP staff aware and specify.
LEAP Registration Window
Registration opens one month before each session and closes 24 hours prior to the session start.
Saturday sessions: Registration closes Friday at 12:30 PM ET
Sunday sessions: Registration closes Saturday at 12:30 PM ET
To reserve a spot, families are required to submit a $20 refundable deposit at registration. This helps us plan effectively and keep LEAP accessible for all students.
Families who attend the session or cancel at least 24 hours in advance may choose to:
- Receive a full $20 refund, or
- Donate the deposit to support the LEAP program.
If a participant does not attend and does not cancel at least 24 hours in advance, the $20 deposit will not be refunded and will be reinvested into the LEAP program.
Families will be notified of acceptance at least one week before the session and will receive Zoom details via email and calendar invite.
