The Sonoran Plein Air Painters invites current Artist and Signature level members to participate in the upcoming show at the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum’s Ironwood Gallery located at 2021 N. Kinney Rd., Tucson AZ.

“We inspire people to live in harmony with the natural world by fostering love, appreciation, and understanding of the Sonoran Desert.”

Important dates for the show:

• January 5, 2026 - Application deadline via Jotform. Artists shall submit no more than three works each. Application fee is $35. Final selections will be juried and subject to available space.

• January 15, 2026 - Artists notified of acceptance into show.

• February 13, 2026 4-5:00 - Artists drop off their work with SPAP volunteers in front of Arizona Art Supply. Drop off art during designated window of time OR have someone bring it for you.

• February 28, 2026- First day of show.

• Friday February 27, 4-6:00 - Opening reception.

•May 3, 2026- Last day of show.

• May 4, 4-5 :00 PM Artist retrieve art in front of Arizona Art Supply. Pick up your art during designated window of time OR have someone pick it up for you. Art that is not picked up will be donated to Charity.

Eligibility:

• Art must be from current Artist and Signature level SPAP members. If you're not sure of your current status, confirm on the SPAP web page under Members.

• If your image file is not named appropriately, using instructions provided, your application will be rejected.

• When using the Jotform entry, be sure to use a current version of the browser Chrome.

• Works must be created in plein air only, during the last two years, and not created during a workshop.

• Art must be ready to hang, framed with wire on back, no sawtooth hardware.

• No wet paintings.

• Label back of art with Artist Name,Title, Medium and Price.

• Paintings juried into the show must be wrapped appropriately for SPAP transport to venue. Paintings must be clearly labeled on outside of wrapping with Artist name, Title, Medium. Art not appropriately wrapped nor labeled will not be accepted.

• Venue handles all sales details and relevant shipping costs.

• Venue takes 30% commission of all sales.

Please note that all jurors have been selected for their professionalism and unbiased selection of works. Every effort has been made to eliminate identifiers from the electronic files reviewed by jurors.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY FORM FOR Sonoran Plein Air Painters PARTICIPANTS The Artist grants permission for their artwork to be displayed. The Artist represents the artwork entry is an original work of authorship personally created by the undersigned Artist. 1. The Artist hereby assumes all risks and hazards incidental to any participation in the display of their artwork. 2. The Artist warrants and represents that they are the sole legal owner of all right, title and interest in his/her Artwork and has the full right and authority to enter this Agreement and grant the rights granted in this Agreement. 3. The Artist understands that while artwork is handled with care and respect, unforeseen accidents can happen. Neither Sonoran Plein Air Painters nor any of its officers, agents or employees shall be responsible for theft, vandalism, fire or any other damages or losses to the artwork. The Artist understands and agrees that Sonoran Plein Air Painters makes no representations or warranties regarding the level of security in the facility or premises. The Artist understands and agrees that Sonoran Plein Air Painters and its officers, agents and employees will not be responsible for reimbursement or replacement of lost, stolen or damaged items and that Sonoran Plein Air Painters does not insure items such as the submitted artwork. Sonoran Plein Air Painters encourages the owner of the artwork to obtain an insurance policy for the artwork or to obtain a rider on any existing policy for the duration of the exhibit. 4. The Artist shall indemnify, save and hold harmless Sonoran Plein Air Painters, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers and agents from any and all claims, demands, causes of action and judgements, losses, costs and expenses, including but not limited to reasonable attorney’s fees, arising due to the negligence of the Artist, employees, agents or other personnel hereunder, including but not limited to any representation, warranty, term and/or condition of this Agreement. I, the Artist, understand the waiver described in this document. I am aware that this is a release of Liability and I sign it of my own free will.*
