THE SPRING OPEN 4th to 21st February 2025

We invite artists of all ages, professional and amateur, to submit original work inspired by the theme of SPRING. 

Artists may enter up to two works. All entries will be accepted providing they adhere to the conditions below. Please be aware that we will close entries once we have received 120 artworks (due to space restrictions) so if you want to take part please return your booking form promptly! 

The artwork can be 2D or 3D and in any medium apart from digital prints of originals or moving image (film). For 2D work the maximum size limit is 80cmx80cm. For 3D work the maximum size is 50cm in any dimension. There is no minimum size limit.

2D work must be framed with D rings attached to the back of the frame and strong cord (no wire), NO clip frames will be accepted. 3D work should be stable and suitable to display on the gallery plinths.

The artwork must be for sale. Sale prices should be inclusive of 30% commission (no commission for under 18s).

Artwork must not have been shown in previous ‘Snowdrop in Art’ or 'Spring Open' exhibitions.

EXHIBITION OPENS  Wednesday 4th February (open daily 10am - 4pm)

PRIVATE VIEW  There will not be a private view 

EXHIBITION ENDS Saturday 21st February

COLLECTION of unsold works Sunday 22nd February 11am - 1pm

£10 per artwork entered (please note this is NON-REFUNDABLE)

Under 18’s FREE - entries must be made by individuals (parents for under 16s)

You will receive a copy of this form when you submit it and should use the 'Art Work' sections to attach to the back of your work

 

MAXIMUM 20 per artist. 

Please label each card clearly with artist name and price. NO packs of cards or deals (e.g. 3 for £5).

Commission on all sales (including cards) is 30%.

There is no commission for under 18s. 

Please note: Card transactions are processed by Square Payments. Card details are sent securely to Square Payments and are not captured on this form. You will receive a receipt at the email address entered above once the payment is processed, following submission of the form.

Please note there are no refunds on entry fees.

The Gallery Team will curate and hang this exhibition. Team members reserve the right to refuse work that is not suitably presented. 

The Gallery Team will provide digital publicity material which exhibitors are encouraged to share on social media or by printing out as flyers or posters to display in their locality.

Please note - there is no storage available for work delivered before the hand-in day nor left after the collection day. Agreeing to T&Cs means that you will deliver and collect at the times shown on this form.

Shaftesbury Arts Centre take no responsibility for any loss or damage to art works displayed in either gallery from the time it is delivered until it is collected at the end of the exhibition. 

In the event of a sale, your bank details will be requested, and Shaftesbury Arts Centre will pay the exhibitor the sale price less 30% commission. This will be by bank transfer, within one month of the end of the exhibition. Failure to provide accurate bank detail information could lead to delay in payment.

If the exhibitor is under 18, we will make payment to their parent/guardian, and we do not charge commission on their sale.
