  • Artist Submission Form for "Light Show"

    For our January "Light Show" exhibition, the gallery will be entirely darkened, and the artworks will serve as the only sources of illumination. Through video installation, digital media, and light-based practices, the exhibition investigates how light can function not only as a visual phenomenon but also as a conceptual and spatial tool.We invite works that engage with the perceptual, technological, or poetic qualities of light. Projects may explore themes such as visibility, exposure, screens, code, temporality, sensory experience, or the material behavior of light itself.

  • Exhibition Details:

  • Location: The LIC-A Art Space @ The Factory LIC, 30-30 47th Ave. Suite 105a (main lobby), LIC NY 11101

  • On View: January 8 - January 31, 2026

  • Opening Reception: Thursday, January 8, 5-8pm

  • Application Deadline: December 28th, 2025 @11:59pm

    Acceptance Notification: December 30th, 2025

  • Artwork Drop off dates/times

    *Note - all installation based work (unless simple projection), require the artist to be present for installation Drop off is Jan 4 & 5 10am - 6pm (for installation based work, artists may install through Jan 7 at 6pm. (No shipped work please!)

  • Artwork Pick up dates/times

    January 31, 5-7pm & February 2, 10am - 2pm

  • Accepted Mediums:

    Video installation, Digital or computational art, Light-based media (LED, projection, laser, neon, custom systems, light based sculpture), Photography using light painting is also accepted and will be spotlit., Installation or new media practices that rely on darkness/light as central components.   • Payment / Apps

    LIC-A does not take any percentage of sales. When your artwork sells, the gallery would like to facilitate a payment to you directly from the buyer using your cash payment app. Please provide your Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, CashApp or other payment app info to receive payments for the sale of your work.  If your work sells, but payment cannot be made through an app for any reason, the gallery will collect the payment for you, and you will be paid by check from the gallery after the show closes.   • This will be a curated exhibition. Submitting artwork does not guarantee selection for exhibition. Entries can be submitted by this online form only, and submissions must be received by midnight on the date of the deadline. Artists keep 100% of their sales — LIC-A does not take commission. We do ask artists to volunteer with install or gallery sit! LIC-A is a volunteer run organization.
