    Please complete this form to enrol for the camp. We collect personal and medical information to ensure your safety and well-being during the camp. The WA Youth Cattle Camp is a 3-day youth event held in WA's Southwest. The Camp is open to 100 entrants from 8-25years, to compete in either beef or dairy industry training and cattle exhibition. The camp will be taking place on the 16th-18th April 2026 in Brunswick Junction, WA.

  • Camping

    Camping on grounds is optional for entrants over 18 years of age, or for applicants under 18 years of age with a parent/guardian on site. Entrants under 12 years of age must have an allocated parent/guardian on site. Entrants camping with parent/guardians on site must be signed out from 6:00pm to 6:00am. No entrant is permitted to stay off site or leave the grounds for any reason during the camp unless approved by the WAYCA Committee. All Camp rules still apply to entrants once signed out for the evening. The grounds will be open from 8:00am Wednesday 15th April 2026 to set up camping. Entrants will be prohibited to move any vehicles on/around the grounds from 8:00am Thursday 16th April 2026 until the conclusion of camp. All entrants who have not selected to camp will stay in the recreational centre on site, (males and females separate).
  • Animal Details

    Entrants have the option to bring their own animal to the WA Youth Cattle Camp, or if they are unable to source an animal the Camp can source one on their behalf. Cattle are generously donated to the Camp from beef and dairy breeders across the State. We ask all entrants who receive a ballot animal to be grateful for the opportunity to attend a youth show and have an animal provided for them. Ballot animals are allocated at the discretion of the WAYCA Committee and no request for change will be considered. A ballot animal fee of $50 applies. Experienced entrants are expected to source their own animal for the Camp. Please ensure you have read the Conditions of entry, and animals meet all of the Cattle Camp criteria. ANIMALS THAT DO NOT MEET THE CAMP CONDTITIONS OF ENTRY WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE GROUNDS IMMEDIATELY.

  • Scholarship Applications

    This year the WA Youth Cattle Camp has an array of prizes and scholarships available for entrants to apply for. The scholarships will be judged on the entrants performance at Camp, whilst participating in all camp activities and will complete an interview with select Judges. We encourage all eligible entrants to apply for the scholarships available, as these are great opportunities to gain experience and exposure in the cattle industry. Each scholarship offers a monetary bursary of a set amount. If applying for the scholarship entrants must be aware any additional costs incurred with the scholarship will come at an expense to the entrant. The WA Youth Cattle Camp will not provide any additional monetary support to attend these events. Each Scholarship does have an age restriction, please see each Scholarships details to ensure you are eligible to apply. Successful entrants must utilise the scholarship within 12 months and will be invited to present a summary of their scholarship at the WA Youth Cattle Camp the following year. Entrants are welcome to apply for all scholarships, but are only eligible to win one scholarship a year.
  • Farmwest AI Training Course sponsored by Farmwest

    Artificial insemination has proven to be a great tool in acheiving genteic gain and variation within cattle herds across Australia and the world.

    Farmwest based in Bunbury offers a 3 day AI training course with Rod Brasher who has over 30 years experience in AI, along with multiple Farmwest AI technicians. Those who participate in the course gain hands on experience in cattle reproduction, including understanding cattle oestrus cycles, semen handling, breeding synchronisation, health and hygiene procedures and correct AI technique.

    This scholarship offers the entry for one participant to attend an upcoming AI training course in 2026 valued at $1400.

    This scholarship is open to entrants from both Beef and Dairy over 16 years of age  at the time of Camp.

  • Angus Roundup sponsored by the WA Angus Society and Angus Australia

    The Angus Roundup is the National Angus youth show in Australia. Held in January each year, the venue location of the Roundup changes annually, giving the entrants exposure to something different every year. Taking up to 150 entrants from 8 to 25 years, this scholarship is a great opportunity for a WA entrant to meet industry professionals from across Australia, build new friendships and gain experience in beef cattle enterprises.

    This scholarship offers a travel bursay of $1000 to attend the Roundup.

    This scholarship is open to entrants from both Beef and Dairy over 18 years of age as of 1st January 2027.

  • Tocal Beef Assessment Course sponsored by Angus Australia

    The Tocal Beef assessment course is a two and a half day training course delivered in Paterson NSW for all beef cattle enthusiasts to gain skills and knowledge in beef cattle and carcase assessment.

    This scholarship offers a travel bursary of $1000 to attend the Tocal Beef assessment.

    This scholarship is open to entrants from both Beef and Dairy over 18 years of age as of 1st December 2026.

  • Merchandise

    While attending the camp, each entrant will receive a camp uniform with their entry fee's, including two camp shirts and a cap. It is important we get the merchandise orders correct to ensure every entrant receives the correct sized clothing.
  • Payment Summary

    Upon submitting your application to the 2026 WA Youth Cattle Camp, you’ll be required to make payment of your enrolment fee to secure your position. Please DOUBLE check your fee amount to include, entry $300, ballot animal $50 (if applicable), live-in parent fee $100 (if applicable per parent/family). An new enrolment form needs to be completed for every child in a family.
