Coarsegold Rodeo Royalty & Ambassador Program – Application Qualifications
Application Fees:
Royalty Candidate: $100
Ambassador Candidate: $75
Competing for and holding a Coarsegold Rodeo Royalty title is both an honor and a significant responsibility. Participants are expected to demonstrate integrity, sportsmanship, leadership, and a positive attitude at all times. The following qualifications apply to all candidates:
General Eligibility Requirements
Application Deadline:
- A completed application and the appropriate contestant fee must be submitted no later than February 1, 2026.
Marital & Family Status:
- Contestants must never have been married, never have been divorced, and must not be pregnant nor a parent.
Title Restrictions:
- Contestants may not currently hold a royalty title for another rodeo organization.
- Current Coarsegold titleholders may reapply only if advancing to the next division.
Legal & Conduct Requirements:
- Contestants must not have any criminal record.
- Contestants and their parents/guardians must agree to uphold the Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds code of conduct, including rules regarding sportsmanship, public behavior, social media, and community representation.
Event Participation Commitments:
- Candidates must be available and present for all required competition days and appearances during the Coarsegold Rodeo, May 1–2, 2026.
- Titleholders will also be expected to attend designated practices, parades, community events, and scheduled promotional activities throughout their term.
Age Requirements:
- Contestants must meet the age requirements for their division as of January 1, 2026.
Horsemanship Requirements (Royalty Only):
- Royalty contestants must demonstrate safe riding skills and provide their own horse for horsemanship portions of the competition. Horses must be well-mannered and suitable for a public rodeo environment.
- Ambassadors are not required to have horsemanship experience.
Ambassador Program Qualifications:
- Ambassadors serve as junior representatives and community-engagement leaders.
- They must demonstrate enthusiasm, teamwork, willingness to learn, and a positive attitude.
- No horse or riding experience is required.
Parental/Guardian Support (Minor Applicants):
- A parent or guardian must sign consent forms, support the contestant’s participation, and ensure transportation to all practices and events.
Behavior & Representation Expectations:
- All candidates must demonstrate respect, courtesy, and professionalism at all times.
- Social media use must reflect positively on the contestant, the rodeo grounds, and the Coarsegold community.
- Any behavior deemed unsafe, inappropriate, or disrespectful may result in disqualification.
