Coarsegold Rodeo Royalty & Ambassador Program – Application Qualifications
Application Fees:

Royalty Candidate: $100
Ambassador Candidate: $75

Competing for and holding a Coarsegold Rodeo Royalty title is both an honor and a significant responsibility. Participants are expected to demonstrate integrity, sportsmanship, leadership, and a positive attitude at all times. The following qualifications apply to all candidates:

General Eligibility Requirements

Application Deadline:
- A completed application and the appropriate contestant fee must be submitted no later than February 1, 2026.
Marital & Family Status:
- Contestants must never have been married, never have been divorced, and must not be pregnant nor a parent.
Title Restrictions:
- Contestants may not currently hold a royalty title for another rodeo organization.
- Current Coarsegold titleholders may reapply only if advancing to the next division.
Legal & Conduct Requirements:
- Contestants must not have any criminal record.
- Contestants and their parents/guardians must agree to uphold the Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds code of conduct, including rules regarding sportsmanship, public behavior, social media, and community representation.
Event Participation Commitments:
- Candidates must be available and present for all required competition days and appearances during the Coarsegold Rodeo, May 1–2, 2026.
- Titleholders will also be expected to attend designated practices, parades, community events, and scheduled promotional activities throughout their term.
Age Requirements:
- Contestants must meet the age requirements for their division as of January 1, 2026.
Horsemanship Requirements (Royalty Only):
- Royalty contestants must demonstrate safe riding skills and provide their own horse for horsemanship portions of the competition. Horses must be well-mannered and suitable for a public rodeo environment.
- Ambassadors are not required to have horsemanship experience.
Ambassador Program Qualifications:
- Ambassadors serve as junior representatives and community-engagement leaders.
- They must demonstrate enthusiasm, teamwork, willingness to learn, and a positive attitude.
- No horse or riding experience is required.
Parental/Guardian Support (Minor Applicants):
- A parent or guardian must sign consent forms, support the contestant’s participation, and ensure transportation to all practices and events.
Behavior & Representation Expectations:
- All candidates must demonstrate respect, courtesy, and professionalism at all times.
- Social media use must reflect positively on the contestant, the rodeo grounds, and the Coarsegold community.
- Any behavior deemed unsafe, inappropriate, or disrespectful may result in disqualification.

Terms & Conditions
By submitting this application, the contestant and their parent/guardian agree to the following terms:

Application Fee – Non-Refundable
- All application fees are non-refundable, regardless of withdrawal, disqualification, or competition results.
- Fees directly support the Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds Royalty & Ambassador Program and are used to benefit the participants through events, supplies, clinics, and program development.
Submission Does Not Guarantee a Title
- Submission of an application does not guarantee placement, selection, or receipt of a royalty title.
- Royalty candidates are entering a judged competition, and titles will be awarded based on scores, performance, conduct, and overall suitability for the role.
Ambassador Program Clarification
- Ambassador applicants are not competing for titles. They are applying to join a leadership and community-engagement program representing the Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds.
- Ambassadors must still meet program expectations, follow rules, and participate in scheduled activities.
Adherence to Rules & Conduct Standards
- All contestants and ambassadors must adhere to the rules, guidelines, and expectations set forth by the Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds.
- Participants must demonstrate respectful behavior, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude at all times—both in person and online.
- Failure to meet conduct standards may result in disqualification or removal from the program.
Attendance & Commitment Requirements
- Applicants acknowledge that participation (and, for royalty contestants, holding a title) requires attending scheduled practices, meetings, community events, parades, and appearances as assigned.
- Failure to meet required commitments may affect eligibility or title standing.
Parental/Guardian Responsibility (For Minors)
- A parent or guardian must support and approve the contestant’s participation, ensure transportation to all events, and agree to abide by all program policies.
Photo & Media Release
- By applying, the contestant and their parent/guardian grant permission for Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds to use photos, videos, and likenesses of participants for promotional, educational, or marketing purposes related to the program.
Right to Amend or Adjust Program Details
- Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds reserves the right to update rules, schedules, or program details as necessary. Any changes will be communicated promptly to participants.
Good Standing Requirement
- All contestants and ambassadors must remain in good standing with the organization, volunteers, animals, peers, and the community.
- Poor behavior, unsafe conduct, or disrespect toward judges, leaders, or fellow participants may result in disqualification.
