1. Eligibility
The event is open to all boats of the National Swallow Class.
While racing, the helm must be a current full member of the National Swallow Class Association.
2. Insurance Requirement
By submitting an entry, competitors confirm that their boat is insured for a minimum of £5,000,000 third-party liability.
3. Rules & Governance
The event is governed by the World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing (2025–2028), RYA prescriptions, the Notice of Race, the Sailing Instructions, and the current National Swallow Class Rules.
In the event of conflict, the Sailing Instructions prevail.
4. Equipment & Haul-Out Restrictions
Boats may not be hauled out during the event without written permission from the Race Committee.
5. Communication Requirements
All boats must carry a functioning marine VHF radio capable of receiving standard international channels.
Competitors must register at least one mobile device for the event WhatsApp group.
Use of mobile devices during racing is prohibited except in an emergency.
6. Safety Requirements
Competitors under 18 must wear a personal flotation device (PFD) at all times when afloat.
All competitors must wear a PFD when Flag Y is displayed.
7. Risk & Responsibility
Competitors participate entirely at their own risk, acknowledging the inherent risks of sailing.
Each competitor is responsible for the safety of themselves, their crew, and their boat, both afloat and ashore.
The organising authority, race officials, and SVYC accept no liability for personal injury, loss, or damage.
8. Acceptance of Club Rules
Competitors and their guests are deemed temporary members of SVYC for the duration of the event and must comply with Club rules and traditions.
