Tennis Lessons at Whitsunday Anglican School.

Pioneer Tennis operates in partnership with Whitsunday Anglican School to deliver a comprehensive school tennis coaching programme before and after school during school terms 1-4 

All Pioneer Tennis coaches are accredited with Tennis Australia and or the Australian Tennis Professional Coaches Association, hold Blue cards and have current First Aid Certificates. 

Lessons are taught using the methods that align through Tennis Australia coloured ball pathways, with juniors encouraged to put practice into their play with options both at the school and club in the ways of targeted events to the player's level. 

The different colour balls offer good opportunities to learn in a controlled environment and allows the coach to increase the technical and tactical proficiency of the player as they progress through their various stages of development. 

We offer the below training times on the associated days as below.  The Grades levels are to be used as a guide, but standards may override these criteria once in the program as progress is dependent on growth and ability, not mere year levels.

Cost of Lessons 

Cost of lessons are charged per the term.  This includes 7 paid lessons + 2 flex lessons allowing for sickness or absenteeism in the term. If there is no sickness/absenteeism these lessons are to be looked at as bonus lessons. 

40-minute lesson term - $126 per junior. 

1 hr lesson term - $144 per junior.  

All fees foreach term are to be paid  by their first lesson with parents asked to put the Term No. ( eg. T1)  they are paying for and the child's name as reference when depositing money into Pioneer Tennis Inc's account. 

In the event of rain or coach absenteeism, lessons will be credited.

For the last lesson of the flex lesson, an SMS will be sent to the parent informing them their block of paid lessons & flex lessons have expired and simple YES or NO if they wish to continue the next block of paid of lessons. 

If No, or unanswered, the vacancy will be advertised and or offered to WAS students on waiting lists. 

If the parent replies YES, they continue with lessons, re scan the QR Code and proceed to the payment section.   

RAIN POLICY.  

In the event of rain, decisions will be made at 2pm.  Parents will be messaged through the clipboard app as to cancellations.  

We will strive to make the best decision given the weather data at the time. 

No message received at 2pm, means the coach is planning to conduct the lesson and will be at the courts.  

If it rains between 2pm - 3pm, the coach will be at the courts to ensure that no child is there by themselves.  He/she will attempt to call parents to arrange pick- ups, with the main objective being thestudent's safety while waiting for a parents to arrive.
