    A Cacao and Clay Experience 

    This creative ceremonial cacao experience weaves together the grounding essence of clay, the heart-opening spirit of cacao, and the soul-nourishing magic of community. Together, we’ll explore how art and ritual awaken one another.

    Welcome to the sacred collaboration between Hawkmoths Arts Studios’ Sandy Gray-Murray and Angela Bates of The Brilliant Heart. We invite you into a warm, intentional space to connect, slow down, and create. Through breath, sound, and shared ceremony, you’ll open your heart to the wisdom of cacao before shaping your own handcrafted mug—a vessel infused with intention and meaning. All mugs will be handbuilt using slab rolling techniques. Sip, breathe, and let the magic unfold as your mug becomes both artwork and ally.

    These offerings will be hosted at Arterra Wines Farm Winery in Delaplane, VA, where organically grown grapes and cleanly crafted winemaking honor the land and its spirit. Guests of the Earth to Hand to Heart Experience are welcome to enjoy a 10% discount on wine bottle purchases, to be savored afterward in the tasting room.

  • Sip, Create, Glaze and Initiate

  • This 3 session experience offers a full ceremonial mug making experience. 

    Session 1: 4 hours: Intro to ceremonial cacao, a grounding meditation, drinking cacao together and hand building aspect of mug making

    Session 2: 2.5 hours: Grounding meditation, cacao tasting and mug glazing

    Session 3: 3 hours: Full Cacao Ceremony Experience and mug initiation

    **NOTE: Not able to commit to all three sessions? No problem! Sandy can glaze your mug for you. This means we'll see you at Session 1 and Session 3. The price is still the same based on the time for Sandy to glaze your piece for you.
