EFAC collects and maintains sponsor information to administer the Sponsor Program, process donations, communicate with sponsors, provide updates, and meet legal, financial, and operational requirements. Payment card information is processed securely by EFAC's third-party payment providers and is not stored by EFAC. Scholar Information and Privacy
As part of the Sponsor Program, EFAC provides information about the scholar(s) you sponsor, including their first name, school, academic progress, photographs, letters, and other program-related updates. This information is shared to help you learn about and support the scholar through the Sponsor Program.
EFAC asks sponsors to respect the privacy and dignity of scholars and to use this information responsibly. Sponsors may share their involvement with EFAC and their sponsorship experience, but should not disclose information that could compromise a scholar's privacy, safety, or well-being.
Child Safeguarding
While participating in EFAC's Sponsor Program it is crucial to support and protect the well-being of scholars in our program. We ask that you please review the following points and check the box that follows to acknowledge and affirm this statement:
- Instantly report any concerns about a student's welfare or academics to the Sponsor Program Manager. Reports will be handled expediently, sensitively, and confidentially.
- Treat all EFAC Scholars fairly without favoritism or discrimination.
- Do not provide EFAC Scholars with gifts, money, personal needs, or other items or financial support without prior authorization from EFAC.
- Do not use language that makes suggestions or gives advice that is inappropriate, insulting, offensive or abusive.
- Avoid controversial topics, politically or socially charged comments.
- Do not visit the home or school of an EFAC Scholar without the direct involvement and coordination of a member of the EFAC staff.
