2026 Dune Shack Artist Residency

There are 9 weeks of Artist Residencies, each for visual artists from 6/27/26 to 8/29/26.

These are three 3-week juried stays. Students are not eligible. One of the 3-week stays is designated for an emerging artist of color named in honor of David Bethuel Jamieson with a $500 fellowship. Please check the box on the next page if you wish to apply for this residency.

An emerging artist is one who has yet to receive a major exhibition or show; has not had extensive media coverage. All ages eligible.

The recipient of the Jamieson Fellowship will be granted a $500 stipend with no rental fee for the residency.

The recipient of the General Fellowship will be granted a $500 stipend with no rental fee for the residency.

The 3rd residency will receive no stipend but there will be no rental fee for the residency.

The following items must accompany your application, or it will be rejected:
- 3-5 images of you work with titles, dimensions, medium, year clearly delineated in the format described. Images may be JPEG or PNG. No other format will be accepted.
- List of images
- Resume
- Responses to all questions noted in application
The jury will see and read your images and captions exactly as you enter them. If you do not follow these instructions correctly, it will negatively affect your application.

Image Submission Guidelines

File Format

Images must be in jpg or png format. One file per image. Other file types are not acceptable and will not be viewed.

File Size

Images should be at least 1000px in either direction for best viewing. Max file size per image is 2MB.

Image File Names

Image file names must include a number and your name following this naming convention:

YOURLASTNAME_1.ext (ie: Smith_1.png OR Smith_1.jpg)

If you do not follow this convention we will not know the image belongs to you. If you do not name your file correctly, it will be discarded.

Captions

Captions must be entered as written below, including number, etc. Caption numbers must correspond to the image file name. Images will be viewed in order that they are numbered.

1)Title, dimensions, media, year, file name

The jury will see and read your images and captions exactly as you enter them. If you do not follow these instructions correctly, it is guaranteed to negatively effect your application.

Resume

Your resume file may be in PDF, Word, RTF or TXT formats. Your resume file must be named: Resume_YourLastName.ext (ie: Resume_Smith.pdf) If you do not name your file correctly, it will be discarded.
