Christmas Celebration & Monthly Birthday Party for Children in Foster Care

We’re expecting up to 600 children impacted by foster care for a magical Winter Wonderland! Gather your loved ones and celebrate the holiday season with a day full of joy, connection, and trauma-informed fun designed just for our kids.

🎉 MONTHLY CELEBRATION - BIRTHDAY-FOCUSED FAMILY SOCIAL:

These monthly gatherings began as a way to make sure every child in foster care gets celebrated on their birthday. Over time, they’ve grown into family socials that:
- Provide wholesome family recreation at little to no cost
- Celebrate monthly birthdays for children in foster care in a special, dignified way
- Help caregivers and children connect with others who understand their journey
- Create positive memories for children impacted by trauma and strengthen family bonds

- The event is split into two arrival times to welcome more families.

To welcome as many caregivers as possible, the event is split into two sessions: 11:00–12:30 pm and 12:30–2:00 pm. The same activities and fun will be available at both sessions.

✨ What to Expect

Join us for a high-energy, family-friendly Winter Wonderland that includes:
- 🎅 Visit with Santa and his elves
- 🎨 Holiday crafts and hands-on activities
- ☕ Hot cocoa and festive treats
- 🎶 Holiday music, dancing, and open play space
- 📸 Photo opportunities for family and sibling pictures
- 🎂 Special recognition for December birthdays for children in foster care
- 💚 Laughter, connection, and memory-making for the whole family
We will do our best to keep the environment welcoming, predictable, and sensory-aware for children with trauma histories.

✨ Event Schedule

🕚 Session 1 – 11:00 am to 12:30 pm

11:00 – 11:15 am – Check-In & Welcome
Caregivers arrive, check in, and get oriented. Activities and photo spots open.
11:15 – 12:00 pm – Winter Wonderland Activities
Visit Santa and his elves, enjoy crafts, music, hot cocoa, and play areas.
12:00 – 12:15 pm – December Birthday Celebration (Session 1)
- Recognize children in foster care with December birthdays
- Sing happy birthday and offer a small treat/recognition
- Take a group birthday photo (as tolerated)
12:15 – 12:30 pm – Final Activities & Goodbyes
Last chance for crafts, photos, and visits with Santa. Closing announcements and goodbyes as families wrap up.

12:45 – 1:30 pm – Winter Wonderland Activities

1:30 – 1:45 pm – December Birthday Celebration (Session 2)
- Recognize children in foster care with December birthdays
- Sing happy birthday and offer a small treat/recognition
- Take a group birthday photo (as tolerated)
1:45 – 2:00 pm – Final Activities & Goodbyes
Last chance for crafts, photos, and visits with Santa. Closing announcements and goodbyes as families wrap up.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Who Can Attend

This event is open to:
- Kinship caregivers
- Licensed foster caregivers
- Foster/adoptive caregivers
- Guardianship caregivers for children who have previously been or are currently under the custody of Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) or Tribal Child Welfare Department
- Group homes
- Youth who have aged out of foster care (up to age 21) with proof of previous or current child welfare involvement

🎉 BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION 🎉

Every month, ASA Now sets aside time at our family socials to celebrate the birthdays of children in foster care so they feel seen, valued, and special.

If you have a child in foster care with a birthday in December, we would love to celebrate them at this event.
- On this form, please mark “YES” to the birthday question and enter the birthday child’s information.
- After you complete event registration, you will receive a separate birthday celebration link by email with additional details.
💲 Cost & Sponsorships

Cost: $10 per household registration

100% of this goes directly toward the operation and maintenance costs of ASA Now so we can continue providing events and services year-round.

Sponsorships:

If your family is facing financial hardship, we have a limited number of sponsorships available.
Please email events@asanow.org before registering to request consideration.

⚠️ Cancellations & No-Show Policy

Our team and volunteers invest many hours to prepare for these events, and space is limited. Please help us be good stewards of donations and make room for other families.
- No refunds or credits are available.
- If you register and do not attend without notifying us, you may be unable to attend family social events for 60 days.
- We understand emergencies happen. If you are unable to attend:
  - Please call or text 623-428-1592 before your scheduled arrival time and leave a voicemail if we don’t answer.
  - This allows us to invite another family to take your place.
