Terms and Conditions
1. Certified Judge Requirement
1.1 A certified WATL judge with a valid certification at the time of scoring must oversee every qualifying session.
1.2 The judge is responsible for accurately scoring each throw and ensuring that all WATL rules are followed.
1.3 The judge must remain present during the entire session, visibly and audibly scoring each throw in real time for transparency.
2. Facility & Target Standards
2.1 All targets and distance lines used for Qualifying Throws must comply with the official WATL specifications in effect for the competitive year the attempt will apply toward. Competitors are responsible for verifying that all targets and lane setups used for Qualifying Throws meet this requirement. This applies even if the Qualifying Throws take place in a different calendar year.
2.2 The facility must be well-lit so all target scoring rings are clearly visible from a reasonable distance on the submitted video.
3. Rules
3.1 Competitors will be allowed only one score submission per discipline. Scores must be submitted via the WATL app by a certified WATL judge.
3.2 Self-scoring is not permitted, for any reason.
3.3 All throws must be recorded on video and are the responsibility of the competitor. Venues are encouraged to help facilitate this requirement. Videos must conform to the following format and guidelines:
3.3.1 During each attempt, the competitor, fault line, and target must be visible at all times.
3.3.2 Competitors must stay behind the fault line and wait for their score to be called before crossing.
3.3.3 Certified judges must speak in a loud, clear, and concise voice, indicating the score of each throw.
3.3.4 Once recording begins, there cannot be any interruptions. The entire qualifying session must be recorded in full, continuous video, including any short breaks the competitor takes between games. If a video is unintentionally cut off (e.g., due to phone overheating or storage limitations), any subsequent video must clearly show a seamless transition with no noticeable gaps. Any throws not captured on camera will not be counted during final audits.
3.3.5 Refer to this video for correct camera placement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSLtG7Lyv0U
3.4 Any videos submitted after the deadline will be disqualified from receiving entry to the WAKTC.
4. Fee Policy
4.1 Affiliates are recommended to collect $100 per attempt at qualifying throws for each discipline.
4.2 Each qualifying throw submission requires a submission fee:
4.2.1 Venue attempts: $25 each
4.2.2 At-home attempts: $100 each
4.3 For qualifying throws recorded and submitted from home, WATL will collect $50 of each $100 submission fee to cover the cost of hosting/video review. The remaining $50 will be distributed back to Affiliates within 77 miles (125 km) of the competitor’s primary residence, divided equally among all Affiliates within this range.
4.3.1 If a WATL affiliated venue does not host qualifying throws, it will not be eligible for this compensation.
5. Refunds
5.1 All submission fees are strictly non-refundable. Once a form or payment is submitted, the transaction is final, and no portion of the payment will be returned for any reason, including but not limited to: the inability to participate, failure to meet eligibility requirements, poor audio/video quality/placement, submission past the deadline, or submission errors made by the participant.
5.2 If it is determined that a submission was made claiming a false submission location, the submission shall be deemed null and void, and no refund, credit, or transfer shall be issued. It is the sole responsibility of the participant to ensure that all submission materials and payments are directed to the correct and designated location.
5.3 Submission of payment and/or registration does not guarantee advancement, placement, or participation in any subsequent events, and WATL assumes no obligation to provide entry, awards, or recognition beyond the scope of the qualifying process.
6. Agreement
6.1 By submitting this form, the individual acknowledges and agrees to these Terms and Conditions, including all refund limitations and eligibility requirements.
6.2 Submission of this form constitutes a binding agreement between the competitor and WATL. The competitor confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted all rules, fees, and requirements outlined in these Terms and Conditions.
