Dr. Amy Thomson (DVM, DAVDC) is back to instruct our Fall VetCircle Dental Extractions Wet Lab! Dr. Amy Thomson, otherwise known as "toothy" is a board certified dentist and oral surgeon. Her professional areas of interest include pediatric dentistry, a multidisciplinary approach to maxillofacial tumours, preserving the function of teeth through periodontics, endodontics and prosothodontics, as well as being passionate about educating pet owners and other veterinary proffessionals. She has and continues to teach both in-person and virtually, as well as contributes to courses, articles and advice to several online platforms.

Agenda:
Both sessions are designed for attendees who are new to dentals or have only performed a few. Dr. Amy Thomson will begin with a lecture and demonstration, followed by a step by step three hour hands-on wet lab. Participants will use their own canine cadaver skull and their own high speed drill to learn how to perform an extraction from start to finish.
In the afternoon, we will build on the fundamental skills learned in the morning session. During the lab, participants will have four hours to work on their canine cadaver skull, using a high-speed drill to perform the extractions they choose, while applying the learning from the morning session. Dr. Thomson will provide individualized guidance and support to all 10 attendees throughout the session.
