    Join us at The Vintage Exchange for our hands-on sewing workshops! Whether you’re a beginner learning the basics or a vintage lover wanting to upcycle and repair your favorite finds, our classes are designed to inspire creativity and confidence. Please fill out the form below to reserve your spot. Spaces are limited!

  • All classes are offered at different skill levels as categorized below. We have no age limitations and encourage mature youths to dive into their sewing journey with the help of instructors and a parent :)  

     

    Level 1: Complete Beginner — “Start Stitching”
    Perfect for those who have never used a sewing machine or need a total refresher.


    Level 2: Confident Beginner — “Build Your Skills”
    Designed for students who understand the basics and are ready for more guided practice. Students should have an understanding of how to thread machines and wind bobbins, follow simple patterns, familiar with finishing techniques like topstitching and pressin. 


    Level 3: Advanced Beginner — “Create With Independence”
    Perfect for students who feel comfortable sewing on their own but still want support for more complex techniques.

      levels 1, 2 +3 SATURDAY BEFORE EASTER! Do you ever reach for your favorite bowl of soup and think DANG I wish this could be a more comfortable experience? Want to learn the basics of using quilt interfacing and leave with a custom set of bowl koozies AND a custom jar opener (that’s three completed projects!)???!


      This class is for you!!


      JESS will begin the class by acquainting you to your machine (or rent one of ours!) Learn how to thread your machine and bobbin, straight and back stitching techniques and pivots. We start stitching on scrap pieces on fabric and will quickly move onto our layered bowl koozie construction! 


      To bring- Fabric (enough for 6 10”x10” fabric pieces can be cut during class BUT we prefer you pre-cut your fabric choices at home before class) Machine, thread, pins

      Learn machine basics, how to thread your machine + bobbin and work with canvas material in a practi-cool  tote-constructing extravaganza! 


      Canvas material is provided! Bring your own machine with USER MANUAL -if- you are unsure how to operate it. They are available online for quick reference while in class. If your sewing machine isn't functioning properly, rentals are available.  Provide your own thread, pins and iron.

      This is your sign to take your serger out of the box! Learn to thread and maneuver fabric thru your serger (overlock) machine as you cut and sew simultaneously!

      Learn the ins and outs of vintage paper patterns! Erin starts from the basics 👌 Reading and understanding what a pattern calls for, sizing, yardage, etc. 


      After an in-depth discussion of pattern abbreviations and symbols, constructing  and sewing a garment with a paper pattern begins! 


      Seating is limited, first beverage is included! All ages and skill levels welcome!
