Bateria is the name of the Drummers that represents the energy of the Samba Dancers the goal this year is to have 40 samba drummers in the biggest parade in the New Orleans Mardi Gras carnival Mardi Gras's Endymion 2026. There will be two rehearsal sessions. One during the day for out-of-town visitors and one during the night for local people who work during the day. You can also attend both sessions. The Group rehearsal will be from 12pm to 5pm, and from 6 pm to 9 pm. There will be a 30-minute break between each rehearsal session. This will be an all-day section for everyone to rehearse together as a group, under the direction of Mestre Curtis Pierre and his Directors.

This section is for professional dancers only if you have a history of performing carnival with one of the major Escola de Samba schools in Brasil and have credentials to prove this. You would be automatically qualified to participate. If you do not have this information. You will have to submit a video of your Samba solo and a picture of the costume that you will use for Carnival 2026

Nonprofessional Male or female Samba Dancers have minimal experience. This section is for dancers who belong to a Samba Community but are not full-time. There will be two rehearsal sessions. The animal section: Pay by the Day section. With a minimum of two day requirement, you can pick the days you are available

The animal section: The animal section - this is the section that will be consisting of six different animals that are featured at the zoo. This is a section that is for non-professional dancers no experience necessary but will be required to do movements that support the animal within they were section. If you are in the giraffe section then they will be some simulated giraffe choreography that will be made up for you to execute during the parade.
