Hurricane Melissa Relief Fund
Jewish Federations of North America have established a Hurricane Melissa Relief Fund for Jamaica and other Caribbean islands after Hurricane Melissa–the most powerful hurricane ever recorded—tore through the Atlantic earlier this week, leaving behind a trail of destruction and despair.
Federations are coordinating closely with our core partners on the ground such as the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) to bring immediate relief focused on medical assistance, water and sanitation support, and shelter for displaced residents.
Hurricane Melissa caused widespread devastation and death across Jamaica, Haiti, and Cuba, with dozens of fatalities already reported, and millions affected by the storm.
In times of crisis, Jewish Federations are uniquely positioned to offer vital support. We are assisting communities affected by the storm through our Hurricane Melissa Relief Fund, ensuring that critical support reaches those affected.
