    P31 Academy Policies & Procedures

    The following policies and procedures are set forth to provide children with a clean, safe, comfortable environment where they can play, learn and grow with guidance and loving care. The policies and procedures will be kept current, made available to parents, and used to govern acceptance by parent/guardian and the childcare provider.

  • Breakfast will be served from 8-8:30 only( if you would like for your child to eat breakfast, they need to be here, anything after 8:20 you are responsible to provide it for them before drop off! For our 2nd class which is lunchtime, lunch will be served from 12-12:30. The same rules as above for breakfast at 12:20pm is the latest No exceptions! This helps us maintain our daily schedule and this rule will be strictly followed!

    CUT OFF TIME DAILY is at 8:30a.m and 12:30pm No child may enter after this time. (NO EXCEPTIONS ONLY DR APPTS & YOU MUST

    Admission Requirements: All necessary enrollment forms must be completed and returned prior to administration. It is the parent's responsibility to ensure all forms are updated immediately upon changes and at least once a year. Upon arrival at the center and ensure that the provider is aware of their presence.

    A NON- REFUNDABLE deposit/registration and annual fee of $100.00 per child is due upon enrollment.

  • Childcare fees are due weekly on Friday for the upcoming week via brightwheel, cash, zelle or debit by 3:00 p.m, if your payment is not paid by Friday at 3 pm there will be a $10.00 late fee added. late fees will be added to the payment. NO PARTIAL PAYMENTS ACCEPTED all fees must be paid including any late fees. Multiple late fees could result in immediate termination of your contract and you will lose your position.

    The following fees will also apply based on your contract:

    Fees for days your child is absent will STILL. (this is how your child spot is secured)

    Daily late fees: We close at 11am for our first class and at 3pm for our second class, each day any child is picked up after 11am or 3pm. There will be a charge of $1.00 per minute and it will be added on your weekly bill. For example if you arrive at 11:30am there will be an extra $30 added to your bill

    Inclement Weather/Teacher workdays Inclement weather is unpaid days. During inclement weather we operate off of ICS school schedule so if the schools are closed, we are closed.

    There will be a two-week trial period with each child. The trial period helps GB's and the parents to make the best decision pertaining to the child to assure that all parties are a good fit for the best interest of the providers and child. During this two-week trial period GB's will notify you written or verbally informing you of our decision and the reasons for my decisions. Also, the deposit/registration fee will still be NON REFUNDABLE if I decided not to continue care for your child.

  • Transportation A transportation permission form must be signed for routine transportation and other times children will be transported, such as for field trips, swimming and/or other activities away from the center. Parents will be notified before children are transported every time unless it is for a regular daily run such as

    Discipline At no time will a child be subjected to physical punishment or shaming, frightening, or humiliating methods be used, or any type of verbal abuse, threats, derogatory marks, or deprivation of a meal or any part of a meal be used. No person, including, but not limited to premises of the family

    Emergency Medical Care In the event of an emergency with your child, parents will be called, and if necessary, the child will be transported by ambulance to the nearest hospital.

    No child will be given any medication, prescription or over-the-counter, unless the parent gives written permission. Permission to administer medication forms are to be filled out each time your child will need medicine to be administered. Prescription medication shall have the child's name, name of medication, doctor's name, name of pharmacy, prescription number, date and directions for administering. The medication must be in the original container as dispensed by the pharmacy.

    Parents of any child who become ill or is injured while in care will be notified immediately of any illness or injury requiring professional medical attention, or any illness which may not require professional medical attention,

  • but which produces symptoms causing moderate discomfort to the child, such as, but not limited to, any of the following: elevated temperature, vomiting or diarrhea. Special problems or significant developments will be communicated to the parents as soon as they arise.

    Communicable Disease Chart The current communicable disease chart of recommendation for exclusion of

    sick children from the center and their readmission will be followed. Any cases or suspected cases of notifiable communicable diseases listed on the disease chart will be reported to the local health department. If a child in care contracts a communicable disease, the parents of all enrolled children will be notified of the occurrence either by phone call, posted notice, or a written

    Ill children may return to care 48 hours AFTER symptoms of the illness end which means if the child is sent home with a fever, diarrhea, or vomiting they cannot return until they have been symptom free for 48 hours without the aid of medications. In some cases, a child may need a Doctor's note to return back to daycare. PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE of all your child fellow peers and staff DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO PRESCHOOL SICK

    Emergency Plans The following procedures will be followed in the circumstances listed below: Fire: Get the children out of the home, meet at the designated safe place as far away from the house as possible, and conduct a head count to ensure all children are safely out. Call the fire department, call the parents, and call

    childcare services within 24 hours.

    Severe Weather: Remain calm, move the children into a hallway or interior room away from windows. In case of a tornado, have the children place their

  • head between their knees with their backs to the wall. Listen to the radio for

    Loss of water: Have bottled water available for drinking purposes. Call the parents if the water will be out for an extended period of time.

    Loss of electrical power: Remain calm, call the power company to report power loss. If in hot weather, open up the windows, if possible. In cooler weather put on warming clothing or get blankets out for children. Call the parents if the power will be out for an extended period of time.

    Loss of child: Call 911 or the police. Call the child's parents. Keep the other

    Death of a child: Call 911 or the police. Call the child's parents. Keep the other children calm and report death to childcare services within 24 hours.

    Parents may visit the preschool unannounced and at any time that their child is in care. Any information requested by the parent concerning the operation of the preschool will be provided to parents. The parent(s) will be provided daily communication (verbal/written) regarding the care of the child.

    No person shall smoke, use tobacco or prohibited substances on the premises or in any vehicle being used to transport children during operated hours.

    Required Reporting The family childcare provider is a mandated reporter of suspected abuse, neglect, or deprivation of a child. This means the law requires the provider to

  • report any known or suspected abuse, neglect, or deprivation to the department of family and child services.
