    We are beyond excited to welcome you into our kapa haka whānau. Whether you’re returning, reconnecting to your whakapapa, growing your skills, or stepping onto the floor for the first time you belong here. This is your space to stand tall, be proud, and move as one.

    Our wānanga are held every second Saturday and they are more than just practice they’re about building confidence, strengthening whanaungatanga, uplifting each other, and celebrating who we are through waiata, haka, and tikanga. Expect good vibes, hard mahi, big laughs, and powerful growth.

    If you’re not yet in our private Facebook group, let our admin team know so we can get you connected and ready to roll.

    Your term registration helps us cover venue hire and resources to keep our rōpū strong, thriving, and moving forward into an incredible 2026.

  • Terms and Conditions of Membership 2026

    These Terms & Conditions are in place to uphold fairness, commitment, accountability, and a strong kaupapa-driven culture within Ngā Tai Ki Te Uru. By registering, members acknowledge and agree to the following:
  • 1. Attendance Requirements (NTKTU Funded Activities)
    To be eligible for Ngā Tai Ki Te Uru funded or subsidised activities, members must:

    Attend a minimum of five (5) practices per term
    Ensure term fees are paid in full
    Maintain consistent and respectful participation
    Attendance is formally recorded each term.

    Members who do not meet the minimum attendance requirement:

    Will not be eligible for group-funded performances, events, or trips
    Are still welcome to attend activities, however costs must be covered personally
    Exceptions may be considered in the case of:

    Medical reasons (with communication)
    School commitments (with communication)
    Family emergencies
    Communication must be made in advance wherever possible.

    2. Commitment to Group Trips (Funded or Subsidised by NTKTU)
    When Ngā Tai Ki Te Uru is fully funding or heavily subsidising a trip, priority will be given to members who:

    Meet the attendance requirement
    Have paid all required fees
    Actively participate in fundraising efforts
    Demonstrate consistent commitment and a positive attitude
    Uphold the mana and values of the rōpū
    Selection for funded trips is at the discretion of the leadership team.

    3. Financial Responsibility
    If a member commits to a trip or event and:

    Withdraws without valid reason after non-refundable bookings have been made
    They may be required to reimburse part or all of the associated expenses.

    Valid reasons may include serious illness, family emergency, or circumstances approved by leadership.

    4. Term Membership & Renewal
    Membership is reviewed at the end of each term.
    Current members will be contacted prior to the new term and must confirm their place.
    Payment must be completed by the advised deadline to secure continuation.
    Membership does not automatically roll over into the next term.
    Members who choose not to continue, or who do not confirm and complete payment, will be removed from:

    The private Facebook group
    Group Messenger chats

    5. Agreement
    By registering with and participating in Ngā Tai Ki Te Uru, members agree to abide by these Terms & Conditions.

    These guidelines exist to protect the integrity, fairness, and strong collective culture of our kapa haka whānau.

    Ngā Tai Ki Te Uru reserves the right to review membership status each term in alignment with these expectations.
