Fossil Falls base camp is located on Cinder Road, just south of Coso Jct on Hwy 395 in the Eastern Sierras.  GPS coordinates for the dry lake bed (Saltlake Cidercone) 35 58’55”N  117 53’57”W.  Dry lakebed base camp is located ½ mile further east than Fossil Falls campground.  Camping is primitive. Bring water and food for your stay.  No meals will be served.  Coso Jct gas station has fast food and groceries.  There is cell service.

The trail will be an out-and-back course following traditional trails from the previous Coso Jct, Geo Bun Buster, and Death Valley warm-up rides.  Dirt roads and trails.  One out vet check with hay and horse water available.

Ride with GPS available, map and course will follow with your prepaid entry.

You will be required to sign a release of Liability at the ride when you pick up your rider packet.  A sample is listed below

hereby acknowledge that I have voluntarily applied to participate in the Fossil Falls ride.  I, the undersigned, in consideration of accepting this entry, do hereby for myself, my heirs, executors, and administrators, waive and release the Fossil Falls ride, it’s sponsors, and all individual members thereof and all other persons regardless of their capacity in any way connected with the event described herein, their representatives, heirs, executors, administrators and assigns from any and all right, claim or liability for damages, or for any and all claims of any kind and nature that I might have. Further, I do hereby acknowledge that said release will extend to any accidents, damages, or claims arising out of my entry caused by my own act or the acts of anyone or any animal within my control. I do further acknowledge that I have read the foregoing and know and understand the contents herein.

I, the undersigned parent/legal guardian of, for and in consideration of my child’s participation in the Fossil Falls ride, do hereby forever release the Fossil Falls ride, it’s sponsors, and all individual members thereof and all other persons regardless of their capacity in any way connected with the event described herein, of any and all claims, demands, suits, or liabilities which otherwise arise by virtue of injury to or occasioned by my child or any horse under such child’s direction and control. This release and indemnification shall be continual and shall remain in full force and effect until revoked by me by document in writing, delivered to the ride manager of the Fossil Falls ride. I do further authorize any officer, director, or supervisory personnel of the Fossil Falls ride to consent on my behalf to any emergency medical treatment which may be required for our child, and do agree to indemnify and hold harmless anyone giving such consent. I do further acknowledge that I have read the foregoing and know and understand the contents herein. I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct.

ALL JUNIORS UNDER THE AGE OF 16 (as of Dec 1, 2025) MUST BE SPONSORED

 

Junior riders under the age of 16, as of Dec 1, 2025, must be sponsored by an adult (at least 21 years of age) and stay within 1 minute of said sponsor during the whole course of the ride. All Junior riders are required to wear an approved helmet. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!!

Discounts:

Juniors  (under 16)  and Young Riders  (16-21)  get a Discount.  If you are a junior or Young Rider on the AERC 30 or 50 (NOT the Intro ride) your ride price for the 30 or 50 is $90.  At checkout time, for each day,  select one of two coupons for the discount based on the ride you are doing.  It will deduct the discount from the cart total and make your ride $90.  (It is a capital "D")

Ride Fees:  Please select your ride for each day below to check out.  Be sure to select AERC Non-Member fee for each day if you are not a Member of the AERC.  (American Enduirance Ride Confrence) You do NOT need to be a member of the AERC for the Intro Ride; you don't need to pay this fee if you are riding the Intro ride.

A note on the Payment confirmation.  We have had some people not see the notice that their entry was accepted.  After you submit your entry, please look for the confirmation note on the page by scrolling up.  If you do not see anything, please drop me a note and I'll confirm your entry.  Please don't re-submit since it may enter you twice and charge you twice.  thanks
